Josh Allen is celebrating one of the happiest moments of his life. Unfortunately, his ex-girlfriend Brittany Williams has not taken the news well.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen’s ex-girlfriend Brittany Williams is at the center of a social media controversy after a comment from her Instagram account seemed to reference Allen in a disparaging manner. Williams has since claimed that her account was hacked, stating that she had no involvement in the comment, which has ignited widespread speculation online.

What Did Brittany Williams Say About Josh Allen?

The controversy began when screenshots surfaced on social media, showing a comment allegedly made from Williams’ verified Instagram account. In response to a user asking about her current relationship, the comment read, “Luckily my boyfriend owns a team and doesn’t play for one. Don’t have to be with another brain-dead CTE athlete.”

The term “CTE” refers to chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a serious neurodegenerative condition associated with repeated head trauma, commonly observed in athletes involved in contact sports like football. Many interpreted the comment as a jab at Allen, who recently revealed that he is now engaged to actress Hailee Steinfeld.

Allen and Steinfeld announced the news on Instagram, posting a photo of the proposal.

The Bills quarterback popped the question on Nov. 22, 2024, during Buffalo’s bye week, but the couple waited one week before announcing their engagement to the world.

How did Allen pop the question? He took a knee in front of the ocean, surrounded by beautiful flowers and candles, and Steinfeld said yes.

Following the uproar, Williams took to Instagram Stories to clarify the situation. She wrote, “My accounts have been hacked several times tonight. Trying to get it resolved. If anyone has any tips please lmk.”

She offered no additional details but firmly denied responsibility for the controversial post. While the alleged comment has since been deleted, the incident has sparked debate about the security of social media accounts and the potential fallout of such claims.

Williams Opens Up About Breakup with Allen

During an appearance on the “Martinis & Bikinis” podcast in late February, Williams opened up about her breakup with Allen for the first time.

“I was with my ex-boyfriend for 10 years,” Williams said. “I would say that coming into the dating world was very, very, very difficult for me at first because I’m just like, I never thought I would be here again. But here I am, I am very happy now. The dating life in New York is absolutely crazy, but it’s so much fun. It was so entertaining.”

She went on to discuss life in New York and becoming a social media celebrity.

“I think after a while you’re like dating isn’t always fun and games,” Williams said. “It’s hard, but it’s beautiful because it makes you realize everything you want and makes you not settle for anything more than that.”

“I’ve learned so much about myself. I’ve learned what I like and what I don’t like and I’m not going to entertain anything other than someone that I think is actually meant for me or whatever it is.”
