Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. has emerged as the team’s RB1 and produced at a very high level when on the field this season. However, he missed Week 6 due to an injury. What’s the latest on Robinson’s status, and what does his injury mean for the Commanders and fantasy managers?
The Latest on Brian Robinson Jr.’s Injury
Robinson has been dealing with this knee injury since Week 4. He played through the injury in Week 5, but he carried the ball just seven times and played a season-low 34% of Washington’s offensive snaps. However, the Commanders decided to sit him last week.
It remains to be seen if he’ll be able to play in Week 7 when the Commanders face the Carolina Panthers, but it seems he has a chance to suit up.
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn has said that this doesn’t appear to be a long-term injury and that the team is just being cautious with Robinson, which is good news. And after missing every practice last week, Robinson was limited all of this week. He’s officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against Carolina.
Quinn said on Friday that Robinson is trending in the right direction, but remains uncertain for Sunday.
Quinn said RB Brian Robinson is 'trending in the right direction' but no decision has been made on his status for Sunday.

If Robinson is able to return this weekend, he would be a must-start against the Panthers, who are allowing the most rushing touchdowns per game (2.0) and the third-most rushing yards per game (153.5) this season.
With Robinson sidelined in Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens, Austin Ekeler stepped into the Commanders’ RB1 role, receiving 13 touches for 68 yards.

Fantasy Outlook for Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler
Robinson has been outstanding this season, and he’s become a set-it-and-forget-it player in your starting lineup. He’s currently the RB11, averaging 13.9 fantasy points per game.
A right knee injury kept Robinson out of practice last week and resulted in his first DNP of the season. He was clearly limited in the Week 5 blowout win over the Cleveland Browns, so it was telling that the team still elected to use him in scoring situations (two touchdowns).

Robinson has five rushing touchdowns in five games, and he’s produced 9.1% over fantasy expectations.
We’ve seen his vision make nice strides this season from last (yards per carry before contact up 31.4%), and in an offense that can produce in many ways, that growth is great to see.
You’ll want to make sure Robinson is active for Sunday’s game, so keep an eye on the practice reports and Washington’s injury report. If he plays, Robinson is a must-start.
