Breece Hall finally missed a game after playing through a knee injury for multiple games. Is Hall’s absence a one-week blip, or will the New York Jets running back need another week off?
What Is Breece Hall’s Injury?
Hall is dealing with a knee injury. It’s something that has been bothering him for some time now but had not yet actually cost him any game action until Week 14.
Hall was still able to play 62% of the snaps in Week 13 vs. the Seattle Seahawks. However, that also represented a season-low participation rate. In fact, he hadn’t been below 74% since Week 4.
Will Hall Play in Week 15?
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that, despite their playoff hopes being over, the Jets have no plans of shutting down Hall.
Hall did not practice at all last week and was initially listed as doubtful before being ruled out on Saturday. This week started out the same way, with Hall not practicing on Wednesday or Thursday.

However, on Friday, Hall surprisingly practiced in full. Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich expressed optimism regarding the status of his star running back, saying that he is hopeful Hall can play on Sunday.
He’s still listed as questionable on the final injury report, but Ulbrich’s comments combined with his Friday practice level indicates that Hall is likely to return versus the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Fantasy Impact of Hall’s Week 15 Status
Without Hall last week against the Miami Dolphins, New York’s running backs carried 21 times for 83 yards.
The workload was surprisingly even between Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis. Allen has been the clear RB2 throughout the season but received 11 carries compared to 10 for Davis. The latter was also more involved in the passing game.
Hall was a star in the early going this season, but with just one top-15 finish since Week 8, a compromised version of him is a scary thought. With Allen and Davis both getting involved last week, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Jets get touches for both rookies given their lack of playoff implications.
The matchup is a juicy one against the Jaguars, who have allowed the second-most PPR points to running backs this season behind only the Carolina Panthers. Thus, you’re probably starting Hall given his upside and the matchup. Just realize that the floor is lower than usual, and decide whether you can stomach that risk in the fantasy football playoffs.
