Brandon Aiyuk Trade Rumors: Viral Social Media Posts Lead to Rampant Speculation About 49ers WR Future in San Francisco

It hasn’t been an easy 48 hours for the San Francisco 49ers and their fans. Fresh off a heartbreaking overtime loss in the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs, it looks like another possible loss may be on the horizon for the 49ers.

Some in star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk’s inner circle took to social media to voice their displeasure and hint at a possible parting of ways.

Is There Trade Speculation Surrounding Brandon Aiyuk?

Fresh off only a three-reception night and a tough Super Bowl loss, it looks as if Aiyuk’s family and loved ones are ready for the young star WR to be on to his next destination. They weren’t shy about their feelings and took to social media to voice their opinion.

Aiyuk’s brother, Draysean Hudson, took to Instagram to post two separate Instagram stories.

The first of which stated, “Why does your all pro 1300 yard receiver have 3 catches in the Super Bowl??” before adding a second that read, “This is the exact reason why we leaving San Francisco. Thank you 49ers for drafting my brother we are forever grateful. BA to Vegas.”

On its own, that’s a lot to unpack for the 49ers. However, that’s not where the social media posts stopped, as Aiyuk’s girlfriend took to the internet to voice her opinion as well.

From the “Itsrochellexo” TikTok account, Aiyuk’s girlfriend Rochelle Searight posted a 10-second clip with the caption below her saying, “Happy 49ers travel day of shame,” adding, “Well, okay, this might’ve been the last day we touch foot on Levi’s Stadium, me and Brandon, because we might not be out here next season.”

If that wasn’t enough, Aiyuk took to his personal Instagram story to post, “Don’t forget what got you there,” as well. He also met with the media on Tuesday and did not do anything to cool down the fires of speculation.

While frustration is understandable, families and players voicing their opinions online are becoming a far more regular occurrence than in the past. Even if they are spoken out of anger and in the moment, things will be noted and talked about as Aiyuk enters the final year of his rookie deal.

With one year left, the star WR is expected to see his cap number rise to $14 million, setting the stage for the 49ers to decide whether they want him to play on that number, extend him, or in the scenario that the Aiyuk family wants — maybe even trade him.

It looks as if all options are on the table, and these social media posts certainly didn’t make things easier.
