Blake Corum Landing Spots: Bengals, Packers, Cardinals Headline Best Fits for Michigan RB

In this day and age, it’s rare that a running back dominates college football for multiple seasons, but that’s what Blake Corum has done at Michigan. Just 5’8″, Corum packs a punch and has the makings of an early down back at the NFL level, meaning he could go as early as mid-Day 2 in the 2024 NFL Draft. Where are some potential landing spots for Blake Corum?

    Blake Corum Landing Spots

Corum is a well-balanced back who thrives late in games. His ceiling might be a bit limited by the fact that he doesn’t really have one elite trait, but he has the speed, size, vision, and power to be an every-down back in the NFL.

Corum runs through arm tackles and has the lateral quickness to get around defenders. His lack of receiving prowess may limit his upside, but he should be a Day 2 guy that immediately contributes to his team.

    Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals just drafted Chase Brown in last year’s draft — the rookie has slowly picked up more snaps as the season has progressed, primarily on passing downs. While preseason rumors of Joe Mixon’s demise were overblown, Mixon will be 28 next season and in the final year of his contract.

It’s rare to see a team invest draft capital into running backs in back-to-back years, but Corum’s skill set complements Brown’s. If Mixon is on the outs, Corum could immediately step in.

    Green Bay Packers

AJ Dillon is an unrestricted free agent, and while Aaron Jones is technically signed through next season, 2024 is essentially a void year. With so many offensive weapons in the passing game, the Packers will likely target a one-cut back who can get north and south quickly.

Corum’s lack of prowess in the passing game probably won’t matter much in Green Bay, but he’s a decent pass protector and could fit the offense well.

    Arizona Cardinals

Despite a good season in 2023, James Conner is aging and in the final season of his contract next year. The Cardinals may be looking to rebuild their offense, and Corum is a guy who could ease into the NFL and contribute as a primary backup before transitioning to a starting role in 2025.

Arizona will be in the market for skill-position players this April and could look at Corum in the middle rounds.
