Michigan running back Blake Corum is one of the top players at his position in the 2024 NFL Draft after a successful college career.
Corum spent all four seasons of college football with the Wolverines, and he capped it off with a National Championship victory before declaring for the NFL Draft. Corum was the feature back at Michigan and was a fringe Heisman contender in 2022.
As one of the top running backs in this class, Corum has the athletic profile that NFL general managers will be looking for, especially if it compensates for his smaller frame.
Blake Corum’s Impressive NFL Combine Performance
Corum measured in pretty small at the NFL Combine, but that was somewhat expected. He is 5’7″ 3/4″ and 205 pounds. His height puts him in the fifth percentile in direct comparison to his peers at the running back position.
While his expected smaller frame could be a red flag, Corum’s testing could give decision-makers confidence in drafting him.
How Fast Is Corum?
Corum’s 4.53-second 40-yard dash put him in the 60th percentile. Known more as a shifty runner, Corum has NFL-caliber speed and checked that box at the Combine.

During his four seasons of college football, Corum averaged 5.5 yards per carry, proving to be a viable threat every time he touched the ball. He also had 56 career receptions for 411 yards, good for 7.3 yards per catch. He is also a viable pass catcher and creator out of the backfield.

Born Nov. 25, 2000, Corum is 23 years old. He will turn 24 before the end of his rookie season.

Corum is a little bit of an older prospect, especially for the running back position. He could be best suited on a team that utilizes him as a change of pace back right away.
Corum’s Latest Scouting Report
During his time with the Wolverines, Corum showcased a complete body of work as a rusher. He’s Michigan’s all-time leader in rushing touchdowns and solidified himself through the championship run as one of the best backs in the nation.
In Corum’s scouting report, Pro Football Network draft analyst Ian Cummings referred to the Michigan man’s frame as hyper-dense with excellent natural leverage in contact situations. He uses his size to his advantage, snaking through tight creases with his leg churn.
“As a pure runner, Corum’s profile is impressively well-rounded,” Cummings wrote. “He might not be quantifiably elite in any area, but he has excellent burst, speed, lateral agility, vision, and creative instincts when approaching and off-setting defenders.
“He’s also a hyper-dense, well-leveraged runner at 5’8″, 213 pounds, who can bounce off of solo tackles and use his constant leg churn to maximize his finishing output.”

Cummings said that at his peak, Corum’s comparison could be Doug Martin. Immediately, he projects as a rotational back who has the necessary athleticism and vision to become a primary starter behind good blocking.
