Bills WR Keon Coleman Reveals Hilarious Reason a Team Got ‘Mad’ at Him During NFL Draft Combine Interviews

While the 2025 NFL Combine is over, reports have surfaced about players, particularly Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, being labeled “brash” and “arrogant” during team interviews. But this isn’t new. Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman recently revealed that a team got upset with him for eating a snack placed on the table during his pre-draft interview.

Keon Coleman Reveals Crazy NFL Combine Experience

Coleman’s love for snacks is well known to Bills Mafia. His habit of eating snacks before touchdowns made him go viral, and during his opening press conference, he even stepped out from behind the podium to ask for cookies.

However, that same love for snacks cost him during one of his team interviews at the 2024 NFL Combine. Coleman recalled the incident during an appearance on the “7PM in Brooklyn” podcast and suggested that the team interviews were designed to throw prospects off.

“It’s kind of set up to throw you off your Ps and Qs, so you can mess up,” Coleman said.

“I had, like, 30 visits, and teams [are] mad I’m eating fruit snacks,” Coleman said. “I’m like, ‘I’m hungry, I’ve been here all day! I’m listening. Can I grab a little fruit snacks every now and then? Y’all got all the snacks in here. That’s just for show?’ … If you ain’t gonna draft me over some fruit snacks.”

Carmelo Anthony asked which team had an issue with the fruit snacks. While Coleman wouldn’t name them, he said it was “the biggest opps.” When the co-host didn’t understand, Coleman added, “If you don’t get that … ”

It seems Coleman was referring to the Bills’ biggest rival, the Kansas City Chiefs, who also drafted a wide receiver early in last year’s draft — Xavier Worthy.

Worthy recorded the fastest 40-yard dash in NFL Combine history, running a 4.21-second time on his second attempt, while Coleman posted the slowest time among the receivers at 4.61 seconds.

However, Coleman’s game speed is faster than his testing speed. He hit 20.36 mph during the NFL Combine’s gauntlet drill, the fastest speed among all wide receivers.

Coleman’s 40-yard time didn’t scare off the Bills, who selected him early in the second round with the No. 33 overall pick.

The 21-year-old had an impressive rookie season, making 29 receptions for 556 yards and four touchdowns. He helped the Bills win their wild-card round matchup against the Denver Broncos with three receptions for 22 yards in the postseason.
