While former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs once wondered if quarterback Josh Allen could thrive without him, the Houston Texans’ star has no doubts about the MVP race. During the Bills’ matchup against the Detroit Lions in Week 15, Allen completed 23 of 34 passes for 362 yards and four touchdowns (two passing, two rushing) in the 48-42 win.
Stefon Diggs Makes a Case for Josh Allen Amid MVP Race
The Bills’ overall record is 11-3 following the win against the Lions. Diggs argued for Allen and weighed in on why the Bills quarterback deserves to win the MVP award this year.
During an appearance on “Good Morning Football,” Diggs said he thinks Allen should win, adding that the Bills quarterback is “balling.”
The Texans WR believes that Allen’s excellence this season has been there for everyone to see, including him. “He definitely should win. He’s been balling. Obviously, it’s no secret that Josh Allen is amazing. As far as seeing him game in and game out, he’s making those plays. It’s not new to me at all. It’s not new to nobody in the league,” Diggs said.
Diggs continued and said he was glad Allen finally got the credit he deserved. “I feel like it’s just his respect kind of coming full circle, finally getting that credit that he deserves. He’s playing at a very high level. I feel like he deserves it.”

Diggs’s endorsement of the Bills quarterback elicited a wide range of reactions from fans. One wrote, “You can’t fool me with this humble gimmick.”
Another said, “Bills fans will see this and still somehow try and slander Diggs character.”
“I love you Stefon Diggs!” a fan wrote.
One X user tweeted, “Almost felt real until I remembered he needs a contract next year because he forced his way off the Bills.”
“If ‘tough pill to swallow’ was a video,” commented one fan.
Another wrote, “Alright, respect to Stefon.”
Following the Week 15 win, Allen was named the top player on offense from the AFC as he became the first NFL player to record multiple passing touchdowns, rushing touchdowns, 350-plus yards throwing, and more than 60 yards rushing in back-to-back games.
Allen and the Bills will play the New England Patriots in a Week 16 matchup on Sunday, Dec. 22.
