Bill Belichick Is One of the Greatest Coaches of All Time

Belichick began coaching in the NFL in 1975 when he was paid $25 a week to be an assistant for the Baltimore Ravens. Belichick has come a long way since then, as he got his first chance to be an NFL head coach with the Cleveland Browns in 1991.

Belichick has gone on to coach in 12 Super Bowls while being an eight-time Super Bowl champion during that time. Belichick has been named a three-time Associated Press Coach of The Year, as well as to two NFL All-Decade Teams.

There has been no more decorated or accomplished coach in the NFL, and despite being in the NFL for over 40 years, he plans to continue coaching next season.

    How Much Is Belichick’s Salary?

Salaries are usually difficult to find for coaches, as they are not widely reported like player salaries. However, the Patriots head coach reportedly made $20 million per year (with other reports indicating it was as much as $25 million annually) during his recent stint with New England, making him the highest-paid head coach in the NFL.

During the 2024 NFL Draft, he was a correspondent for “The Pat McAfee Show’s” NFL Draft Spectacular on ESPN, which earned rave reviews.

Belichick also agreed to a recurring role on ESPN’s “ManningCast” alongside Peyton Manning and Eli Manning, where he provides insight during Monday Night Football. According to The Athletic, Belichick has a book deal lined up that will pay him “well into the seven figures” in addition to his broadcasting opportunities.

Now, in addition to all the other roles, he will be heading to the Tar Heels. It has been reported that his contract is worth $ 50 million dollars over five years. Not quite the same as what he was apparently making with New England, but not far.

What will Belichich bring to North Carolina? Well, luckily he made his intentions quite clear on a recent episode of the Pat McAfee show.

“Let me put this in capital letters, if, I-F, if I was in a college program, the college program would be a pipeline to the NFL for the players that had the ability to play in the NFL,” Belichick said on The Pat McAfee Show on Dec. 9. “It would be a professional program — training, nutrition, scheme, coaching, techniques, that would transfer to the NFL.

“It would be an NFL program at a college level and an education that would get the players ready for after football. It would be geared toward developing the player, discipline, time management, structure, and all that, life skills, regardless of whether you’re in the NFL or somewhere in business.

“I feel very confident that I have the contacts in the National Football League to pave the way for those players to have the opportunity to compete in the National Football League. They would be ready for it, I don’t have any doubt about that. It would be an NFL program, but not at the NFL level.”

    Belichick’s Net Worth

Belichick’s net worth is estimated to be around $70 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. He has done quite well for himself throughout his decades coaching in the NFL. This would make him one of the richest coaches in NFL history. Plus, this number doesn’t take into account the deal he just signed with North Carolina.

However, it’s possible that this estimate of Belichick’s net worth is a bit low, as Bloomberg reports that Belichick earned more than $200 million throughout his Patriots tenure.

We know that Belichick’s bank account isn’t hurting, as he’s been able to buy up a compound of six houses in Nantucket worth over $10 million, plus a $1.9 million mansion outside of Boston in recent years.
