Where Will Bill Belichick Be Coaching Next Season? Betting Odds Have Chargers as the Favorite

Which team is most likely to hire Bill Belichick? Is there any chance he stays in New England? We look at the odds for Belichick's next team at DraftKings.

After the New England Patriots went 4-13 in the regular season, it appears they may be headed for a divorce with HC Bill Belichick. Although nothing is set in stone, it would be far from surprising if the Patriots moved on from their six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach — especially after going 29-38 in three seasons without future Hall of Fame QB Tom Brady.

But according to the betting odds at DraftKings Sportsbook, who is the most likely team to hire Belichick as their next head coach?

Betting Odds for Which Team Bill Belichick Will Be Coaching Next Season

At +200 odds, the Los Angeles Chargers are the betting favorites to hire Bill Belichick at DraftKings Sportsbook.

After four seasons of mostly bad quarterback play after Brady’s departure, the Chargers make perfect sense for Belichick because they have a franchise quarterback in place with Justin Herbert.

By hiring Belichick, the Chargers would be expecting the legendary head coach to bring stability to the organization and fix their defense that allowed the fifth-most yards per game this past season. For a roster that is hoping to contend next season, this appears to be the best fit for Belichick, and the oddsmakers agree.

After the Chargers, surprisingly, is Belichick’s current team — the Patriots at +300. While most reports have indicated they don’t expect Belichick to be the head coach of the Patriots moving forward, he is still under contract with the organization.

With the Tennessee Titans just firing Mike Vrabel, however, it’s safe to assume that he could land in New England if they part ways with Belichick, considering his ties to the organization.

Following the Patriots is another logical landing spot — the Atlanta Falcons at +500. After three straight seasons of going 7-10 and disappointing offensive production, despite three first-round picks spent on skill-position players, the Falcons fired HC Arthur Smith less than five minutes into Black Monday.

It appears owner Arthur Blank is tired of losing, and according to The Athletic‘s Dianna Russini, the Falcons are a team to watch if Belichick is available.

Of the three remaining head coaching vacancies, the Washington Commanders (+650) have the next-shortest odds, followed by the Tennessee Titans (+800), and the Carolina Panthers (+1500).

While the Commanders remain a possibility, as they’re much more appealing than they previously were with a new ownership group in place, Belichick joining the Titans or Panthers would be shocking. The Titans appear destined for a rebuild, and it’s highly unlikely that Belichick would want to work with an owner like David Tepper.

While they technically have an opening, there aren’t odds listed for the Las Vegas Raiders at DraftKings, which would be quite ironic, considering they just fired Josh McDaniels earlier this season, and Tom Brady is a minority owner.

DraftKings does have odds for Belichick not coaching anywhere next season at +600, which would be a surprising outcome, given recent reports.
