Fantasy Matchups Week 6: Target These TEs

    Logan Thomas vs. Atlanta Falcons

Logan Thomas was a hot waiver wire pickup heading into Week 5, and he paid off, finishing as TE5 against Chicago in a crazy Thursday night game. Now the Commanders take on the Falcons, who have allowed the fifth most points to TEs on average so far this season.

The Falcons are much more stout against WRs and RBs, so expect Sam Howell to get the ball to Thomas as much as possible, which could lead to a solid day from the TE. He is TE9 in our PFN’s Consensus Rankings this week.

    T.J. Hockenson vs. Chicago Bears

With the loss of star WR Justin Jefferson to the IR, the Vikings are dying for a lead pass catcher, and TET.J. Hockenson could be that guy. Jefferson leaves behind an average target share of 27%, so there will be plenty of opportunities available for Hockenson this week.

The Vikings take on the Bears this week, who have allowed the fourth most total yards to opposing offenses, and that, plus the increase in target share potential, puts Hockenson in line for a massive week in fantasy. He is TE2 in PFN’s Consensus Rankings.

Zach Ertz vs. Los Angeles Rams

TEs against the Rams have had pretty good outings, at least the last two weeks — in Weeks 4 and 5, TEs hit more than 100 yards total against the Rams defense. Now, Zach Ertz gets a chance. Ertz has been having an under-the-radar season, with three out of five weeks in the top 15. And with James Connor on the IR, he could become QB Joshua Dobbs’ security blanket in Week 6.

Dallas Goedert had a field day against the Rams last week, and Ertz could do the same on Sunday. He is PFN’s TE11.

Dallas Goedert vs. New York Jets

After being underutilized in the first four weeks, Goedert’s squeaky wheel was oiled in Week 5 when he went for 117 yards and one TD on nine targets against the Rams. This week, Philly takes on the Jets, who are the worst against the TEs. The Jets are great against defending against WRs and still solid against RBs, so it would make sense for the Eagles to funnel their offense through the TE.

Goedert is in line for another big day and is PFN’s TE6.
