Who Are the Steelers’ Top Fantasy Players?
WR George Pickens
It may be tough to believe this because of his underwhelming WR29 finish last year, but Pickens saw his targets (106), receptions (63), receiving yards (1,140), and touchdowns (five) increase from his rookie year. Now with Dionate Johnson no longer on the roster, Pickens should enter the 2024 season as the unquestioned focal point of the passing attack.
Pickens’ ADP currently sits at No. 57 overall, the WR28 off the board going in the fifth round right after Tee Higgins and Amari Cooper come off the board. It is hard to imagine a scenario where Pickens sees fewer targets this year with Johnson out of town and his main target competition coming in the form of a rookie (Roman Wilson).

RB Najee Harris
Over the past two years, Harris’ production has declined precipitously. He averaged 13.2 points per game in 2022 and a mere 11.5 last year. Not finding the end zone until late October certainly did not help that. I think we’ve seen the nadir of Harris’ performance.
The Steelers declined his fifth-year option, almost guaranteeing he’ll be with another team next year. While the receiving work is unlikely to return, it doesn’t have to in order for Harris to be worthy of his RB24 (No. 73 overall) ADP. While he’s not an exciting player and certainly lacks any high-end upside, Harris remains the favorite for carries and goal-line work. And he’s still the starting running back in what should be an improved offense.

RB Jaylen Warren
If you want to talk yourself into Warren early in the eighth round (1-1.5 round discount from Harris), it’s a bet on talent and your willingness to gamble.
Warren averaged 60% more yards per carry before first contact last season than Harris and is simply the more explosive player. He finished 2023 with just three fewer broken tackles despite 106 fewer attempts than Harris and matched him with 24 rushes of 10+ yards.
I’m expecting Warren’s 2024 season to look something like 2023. He only had five games in which he reached double figures in carries, and, barring the first real injury in Harris’ career, that role figures to be capped so that his viability every week will be a question.
