Higgins currently has a one-year contract worth almost $22 million after being franchise-tagged last offseason, but he is set to become a free agent, which has the Bengals and their fans on the edge of their seats.
One team that might be interested in what Higgins has to say is the New England Patriots. Patriots QB Drake Maye indicated at the Pro Bowl that he would love to have Higgins join the team.
Maye spent a lot of his time at the Pro Bowl trying to recruit other players to join the team, including Higgins.
“I definitely think a little bit,” Maye responded to Kay Adams when asked if he tried to sell the Patriots to other Pro Bowlers. “I definitely got to know some of the guys. Tell them a little bit about Boston, about Foxboro, [Mass.,] about Gillette a little bit, some about the fan base. It’s definitely time to get to know some guys and let them know that the Pats got some things to make some moves this offseason.”
During the Pro Bowl, Maye also mentioned how nice it was to throw to Higgins’ current Bengals teammate, Ja’Marr Chase.
“Yeah. It is pretty nice. It’s pretty nice,” Maye said, throwing passes to a guy like Chase. “But hey, we got some guys in Foxboro that are doing their thing, so I’ve got to do a better job giving them the rock.”
Another team that could use Higgins is the Dallas Cowboys. They could definitely use a good WR2 receiver behind CeeDee Lamb, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is known to be tight with the purse strings these days when it comes to free agents.

Higgins can also just remain with the Bengals and put an end to all of this talk. You have to wonder, however, how much money the Bengals will have to dish out to keep Higgins from leaving.
Wherever Higgins decides to go, he is definitely going to make his new team better. Higgins ended the season with 911 yards and 10 touchdowns and is the No. 1 free agent on PFSN’s Top 100 NFL Free Agent Rankings.
