Bengals Free Agency Fits: Remaining Targets Include Trent Brown and Mike Williams

    Published on

The Cincinnati Bengals have made several moves in free agency, but there are still improvements that could be made to their roster.

The NFL’s 2024 legal tampering period has passed, and the new league year has officially kicked off. Several names have already flown off the board, but plenty of talent is left.

The Cincinnati Bengals were pretty active early on in free agency as the team has made several moves. What other players could they sign to improve their roster heading into the 2024 season?

Bengals Free Agency Targets: Players Still Available at Positions of Need

Cincinnati has had a trio of signings at the tight end position. In addition to re-signing their two best players at the position from last season — Tanner Hudson and Drew Sample — the Bengals also added Mike Gesicki.

To solidify the secondary, the Bengals added safety Geno Stone and brought back safety Vonn Bell.

While the Bengals have made some solid signings, there are still several players on the board that could be a good match for Cincinnati.

    Sign Trent Brown at OT

Brown entered free agency ranked as the 37th-best free agent overall and fifth-best offensive tackle in PFN’s list of the top 100 free agents, putting him firmly among the most desirable options for teams looking to solidify themselves at offensive tackle.

The Bengals have a need at right tackle, and the team has been linked to Brown for some time, particularly after RT Jonah Williams signed with the Arizona Cardinals this week.

Brown played LT each of the last two years in New England, but he also has previous experience at right tackle and could certainly help fill the void left by Williams in Cincinnati.

Sign Mike Williams or Odell Beckham Jr. at WR

The Bengals have some uncertainty at the wide receiver spots behind top option Ja’Marr Chase. Veteran pass-catcher Tyler Boyd is a free agent and likely to sign elsewhere. Additionally, No. 2 receiver Tee Higgins requested a trade away from the team after failing to reach an agreement on a long-term extension.

Both Mike Williams and Odell Beckham Jr. are solid options still available at the WR positions.

As a former No. 7 overall pick, Williams has been a very productive player with the Los Angeles Chargers. In seven seasons, the Clemson product has caught 300+ passes for over 4,800 yards and 31 touchdowns.

His ability to get downfield while being a large target will make him a strong help for any team needing a wide receiver.

After missing the entire 2022 campaign rehabbing from a torn ACL he suffered in Super Bowl 56 with the Los Angeles Rams, Beckham caught 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games with the Baltimore Ravens.
