The Caleb Williams and Chicago Bears pairing seems destined to be, and as we get closer to the start of the 2024 NFL Draft, those around the team are beginning to discuss Williams and his soon-to-be new home in the NFL.
The latest to do so is Bears’ star CB Jaylon Johnson who took the time on Wednesday to offer a piece of advice to Williams as he prepares to enter their locker room.
Bears’ Jaylon Johnson Sends Strong Message to Caleb Williams
The reputation Williams’ has created for himself is one of a unique personality who is aware of his growing star status. Whether that’s the case or not is immaterial, as it appears to be the sentiment shared by those in the league.
It’s something that Johnson spoke about when he joined Kay Adams on the Up and Adams Show and used that time to issue a bit of a message to Williams ahead of time before the two become teammates.

“You just humble yourself coming in the building. I feel like it’s one of those things where you can’t bring that Hollywood stuff into the building, especially not with guys that play this game, I feel like at a high level for consecutive years in the league.
“It’s just something that guys like myself, guys like Tremaine (Edmunds), T.J. (Edwards), I mean just the vets now, now Keenan Allen, you ask certain guys in the locker room, I feel like we’re going to see through it, and it’s like, nah what you did in college, the Hollywood, it’s like nah, you gotta prove yourself…
“At the end of the day, we want him to be the absolute best he can be, that’s what we’re bringing him in for, to win games. So I think truly just learning who he is as a person, learning deeper than just all the Hollywood stuff you see but actually trying to learn and get to know him…”
The Bears’ outlook in 2024 is vastly different than it has been over the last decade. A lot of that has to do with the moves they’ve made this offseason in preparation for Williams’ arrival.
It seems as if Johnson understands the situation presented to them, and making sure Williams is at his best when he comes into Chicago is best for all parties involved. On Thursday morning, Johnson let Williams know that the standard is now set.
