‘Hire Him and Stop Being Stupid’ – Bears Fans Send Clear Message After Mike Vrabel Completes HC Interview

    Published on

Mike Vrabel completing the interview for Chicago Bears head coach sparked reactions from the team’s fans on social media.

Mike Vrabel is among the best candidates in this year’s head-coaching cycle. Multiple teams will pursue him, and so far, he has interviewed with the Chicago Bears and the New York Jets.

Vrabel is expected to interview with the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders in the coming days. As a result, Bears fans on social media want the franchise to reach an agreement with the 49-year-old head coach to avoid losing him to any other team.

Bears Fans React to Mike Vrabel’s Interview With Franchise

The Bears finished with a record of 5-12 this season, and Caleb Williams’ rookie season was disappointing. Matt Eberflus was fired during the season, and the organization is under pressure to find the right man for their promising young quarterback.

The majority of Bears fans on social media like Vrabel, and they think he’ll be the perfect man to lead their team. Here are some of the reactions after the NFC North franchise announced that they have completed an interview with the former Tennessee Titans head coach:

“Vrabel would be a much better coach for this team than Ben Johnson. There. I said it. I don’t regret it,” said a fan.

“Hire this man. It’s not a hard choice to make,” wrote a fan.

“Please don’t go any further, please decide between coach Vrabel or Ben Johnson,” said a fan.

Another fan added, “If you want him……. Don’t let him leave Chicago without signing a contract. If he gets to New England…it’s a wrap.”

Bears fans would love to have Johnson or Vrabel as their head coach. The former has done a tremendous job as the Detroit Lions offensive coordinator and would be a great addition to help Williams.

However, unlike Johnson, Vrabel has prior experience as a head coach in the NFL. He went 54-45 in six seasons with the Titans and also made the playoffs three times. He will instantly improve the franchise’s culture, and since he had success with Ryan Tannehill as the quarterback, he will definitely be in a much better position with a player of Williams’ caliber.

Chicago Could Miss Out on Vrabel to the Patriots

Although the Bears have acted quickly on interviewing Vrabel, they might be on the outside looking in. The Patriots are viewed as the most likely landing spot for the three-time Super Bowl-winning linebacker.

Vrabel played eight seasons with the Patriots, and due to his connection with the franchise, he could replace Jerod Mayo, who recently got fired. New England also has a promising young quarterback in Drake Maye, a wonderful welcoming gift for any new head coach.

Although the Patriots’ roster lacks talent compared to the Bears’, Vrabel’s relationship with owner Robert Kraft could encourage him to choose the AFC East franchise over the others.

The Bears are interviewing many candidates, so losing out on Vrabel will not be the end of the world. Here are some of the other candidates Chicago is interested in:

    1. Aaron Glenn, Lions defensive coordinator
    2. Brian Flores, Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator
    3. Arthur Smith, Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator
    4. Pete Carroll, former Seattle Seahawks head coach
    5. Mike Kafka, New York Giants offensive coordinator
    6. Todd Monken, Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator
    7. Drew Petzing, Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator

If Chicago misses out on Vrabel, they should definitely go all-in for Johnson — or else fans will not be happy.
