Baltimore Ravens Trade Rumors: 3 Moves To Make Include Derrick Henry, Danielle Hunter, Justin Houston

The 5-2 Baltimore Ravens are sitting at the top of the AFC and will be buyers at the NFL trade deadline. Who might they target as potential trade options?

Sitting at the top of the AFC, The 5-2 Baltimore Ravens will be buyers at the NFL trade deadline.

The team was active in the draft and free agency as they brought in Zay Flowers in the first round and signed Odell Beckham Jr. The Ravens are likely to be active buyers as the trade deadline approaches, and they look to add depth to the running back position and their defense.

    Baltimore Ravens Trade Deadline Moves

The Ravens are currently projected to have eight draft picks next year. They have $2.8 million in cap space and could create around $13 million more with simple restructures, according to Russell Street Report’s Brian McFarland.

The team has enough financial capital and ammunition to make some moves.

    Derrick Henry, RB, Titans

The Titans currently sit 2-4 and at the bottom of the AFC South. Already having made a big trade as they sent All-Pro safety Kevin Byard to the Philadelphia Eagles for Terrell Edmunds, a 2024 fifth-round pick, and a 2024 sixth-round pick, the Titans are likely to be big sellers this trade deadline.

With J.K. Dobbins missing the rest of the season due to an Achilles tear, the Ravens are in desperate need of a No. 1 running back. Henry could fill that role for the team.

This season, Henry has had 98 carries for 425 yards and three touchdowns while adding 11 receptions for 117 yards. He has also made three Pro Bowls and won Offensive Player of the Year in 2020.

With the Ravens looking to make a playoff run this season, they will need to consider trading for a running back, and Henry is a top option.

    Danielle Hunter, DE, Vikings

The Ravens’ pass rush is performing well this season. Their 29-team sacks lead the NFL. The team could use a top-tier pass rusher if looking for a postseason run.

Hunter could have an immediate impact on the team and allow for depth in the position to ensure they are solid heading into the rest of the season. Hunter is in the final year of a team-friendly contract, with a base salary of $4.9 million in 2023.

Hunter has consistently excelled as the Vikings’ top pass rusher. So far this season, he has put up 34 tackles and nine sacks, and his 12 total tackles for loss lead the league. Hunter has recorded at least one sack in five of the six games played this season. He is on track to achieve 22.5 sacks, surpassing his career-high of 14.5.

The Ravens have consistently maintained a strong defense, and continuing to do so would be a top priority for the team moving forward.

    Justin Houston, LB, Panthers

The 0-6 Panthers are looking towards a rebuild and will be sellers at this trade deadline. Justin Houston could be looking to return to his old team and be a contender for the postseason.

Another option for stabilizing the defense could include Houston — a familiar veteran of the Ravens. With the Ravens in 2022, Houston put up 9.5 sacks, 21 tackles, and an interception.

Houston would be a less expensive alternative to Hunter and bring back veteran talent to the team.
