MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — If you wanted to see the real 2023 Miami Dolphins, you’ll need to wait at least another week.
The Atlanta Falcons vs. Miami Dolphins inactives are out, and Mike McDaniel has proven he sees little benefit to putting his key players at risk.
Here’s a look at the Falcons-Dolphins inactives — or, more accurately, a list of players not expected to participate (unlike the regular season, there is no limit to how many players can dress for either team).

Analysis
The Dolphins have punted on the preseason opener.
Only a handful of potential starters are active, and most are on the offensive line: Liam Eichenberg, Isaiah Wynn, Robert Jones, Austin Jackson, and Cedric Ogbuehi.
Eichenberg, Wynn, and Jones are in the mix to start at left guard.
Jackson or Ogbuehi appears to be the plan at right tackle.
On defense, only one position battle will play out Friday night: safety.
While Brandon Jones and Trill Williams are both down, that might be more due to injury than anything else.
DeShon Elliott and Elijah Campbell will have a chance to make their case to start alongside Holland.
A couple of surprising names who are up Friday night: WR Cedrick Wilson Jr. and EDGE Emmanuel Ogbah. It would be a surprise, however, if they play more than a handful of snaps.
