At 4-3, the Atlanta Falcons currently lead the NFC South and will be buyers at the NFL trade deadline. The team also has the easiest schedule in 2023 moving forward, meaning valuable trades could give them the boost they need to make a playoff run.
The team has already made one in-season deal, acquiring wide receiver Van Jefferson from the Los Angeles Rams for a late-round pick swap in 2025.
Potential Atlanta Falcons Trade Deadline Moves
The Falcons have nearly $7 million in available cap space as the 2023 NFL trade deadline approaches, and time will tell if they make big moves with that space.
Jerry Jeudy, WR, Denver Broncos
Jerry Jeudy has been a big name ahead of the trade deadline this season. The wide receiver has not gotten off to the best start this season and could break out with another team.
While the Falcons already acquired Van Jefferson in a trade with the Rams, continuing to add playmakers to the offense would increase their chance of taking home more wins this season.

Adding more offensive weapons for Desmond Ridder and alongside Drake London, who is averaging 12 yards per reception with 17 catches for 204 yards, could make for an explosive offense.
This season, Jeudy has brought in 25 receptions for 286 yards. Jeudy is a talented wide receiver and route runner and could help bring in the speed on the outside that the Falcons need.
Sources told Pro Football Network Insider Adam Caplan that Jeudy’s near-$13 million fully guaranteed fifth-year option salary for next season could be a reason for teams shying away from trading for Jeudy.
Chase Young, DE, Washington Commanders
Chase Young has been a strong contributor to the Washington Commanders defense, starting the season with five sacks and 14 tackles.
Young, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, is in the final year of his rookie contract and is set to be a free agent this spring.
The Falcons are in need of pass-rush depth on their defense, and Young would be able to make an immediate impact. While going after Young would cost the team, the potential impact he would have could offset those concerns.
Young could be the answer for the team, having an option to get at the quarterback and take the pressure off of Atlanta’s defensive linemen. Atlanta has totaled just 13 sacks through seven games. The team’s current sack leader is David Onyemata, who has logged just 2.5 sacks thus far.
Trent Brown, OT, New England Patriots
The Falcons’ offensive line has struggled early in the season and could look for more players to bolster their current unit.
Patriots left tackle Trent Brown has been the best tackle in the entire league this season, according to PFF, but is set to become a free agent this offseason.
The left side of Atlanta’s line has been a point of weakness this season as Matthew Bergeron has not played up to par, and adding Brown could help relieve some of the offensive line struggles that Atlanta has been seeing.
