Falcons Fans Turn on Kirk Cousins After Injury Admission

Cousins’ $180 million deal with the Falcons might’ve looked like a promising start, but fans aren’t impressed by his recent admission.

On “Good Morning Football,” Cousins revealed that a hit to his right shoulder and elbow during Week 10 against the New Orleans Saints played a part in the Falcons’ four-game losing streak. But that’s not the only thing getting fans riled up.

One fan’s frustration boiled over with the tweet: “Ion care who it’s for, get his selfish a** out of ATL.”

The sentiment spread quickly. Fans pointed fingers, blaming Cousins for not admitting the injury earlier and costing the team a chance at a playoff run.

One comment claimed, “Be upset at Kirk, he cost us the season not wanting to be replaced. I don’t think Heem lied about it. I think he believed what Kirk told him.”

It’s clear the frustration isn’t just about the injury; it’s about the timing. Cousins, who was expected to bring stability, now feels like part of the problem.

Fans took to social media in full force. “I was trying to enjoy my day and then Kirk Daniel Cousins does this,” tweeted another fan, showing the mix of personal disappointment and disbelief.

Meanwhile, others questioned Cousins’ performance. One user called out his “perfect spiral interceptions” and doubted the injury’s impact.

And then there’s the group who’s cautiously optimistic.

“He’s got to sale this that there was an actual ‘reason’ for his dropp off and he can come back healthy after an offseason and still perform like a starters I just hope we get a bag of chips before we have to cut him,” said a fan, still hoping for a return to form but doubting Cousins’ future with the Falcons.

For now, it’s a waiting game.
