The Atlanta Falcons have had 14 different men lead the franchise as head coaches throughout their history. However, Raheem Morris comes in as a familiar face to the organization, having been the interim head coach in 2020.
Morris is back after a three-year stint with the Los Angeles Rams. He’s bringing a 2021 Super Bowl ring back with him, but the championship bling isn’t the only Rams-related thing joining Morris in Atlanta.
In looking at Morris’ official 2024 coaching staff, two notable names come with past Rams representation.

While Atlanta’s staff has several new names, Morris managed to maintain one popular member of the previous regime.
Marquice Williams remains on board as special teams coach. Williams has spent four seasons with the Atlanta franchise and is considered widely popular among the players in the locker room.
Williams wasn’t the only 2023 staff member lured back by Morris.
T.J. Yates got retained as well, except the former NFL quarterback goes from coaching wide receivers to his natural position of QB.
Morris is also keeping Michael Pitre from the Arthur Smith regime, and Pitre will once again coach running backs.
Shawn Flaherty is one more ’23 staff member who’ll keep his coaching position on the Falcons.
Dave Huxtable stays on board on the defensive side and will remain in his role as senior defensive assistant.
Jerry Gray is one more Smith defensive staff holdover returning to the Falcons.
New Additions to the Falcons’ Coaching Staff
Morris plucked from the coaching tree of his past boss, Sean McVay, to find his coordinators.
Jimmy Lake helped coach Rams defensive backs while Morris ran the defense. Lake now gets his first opportunity as a defensive coordinator in the NFL.
That’s also the case for Zac Robinson, who earns his first shot at running an offense as a first-time coordinator.

Morris even offered an NFL gig to a coach originally heading to the University of Nevada. Jacquies Smith was lined up to join Jeff Choate in Reno to coach defensive ends before Morris hired him as the Falcons’ outside linebackers coach.
Morris’ staff will also feature the son of longtime NFL offensive coordinator Ernie Zampese. Ken Zampese spent 2023 as the senior offensive advisor/game management specialist for the Washington Commanders.
