Almost the entire league was on hand for Arkansas’ 2022 Pro Day. That includes New York Jets national scout Dom Green, Tampa Bay Buccaneers national scout Andy Speyer, Minnesota Vikings assistant defensive line coach Imarjaye Albury, and Pittsburgh Steelers scout Mark Gorscak (best known as the starter for the 40 at the NFL Combine).
Arkansas Pro Day 2022 saw Treylon Burks in action
As posted on Twitter earlier today, wide receiver Treylon Burks did not run the 40 but looked real good in position drills. As several on hand told me, Burks looked incredibly smooth and caught the ball exceptionally well.
This will surely make up for some of his disappointing results from the Combine last week, though some teams are still not thrilled with his 40-yard dash time of 4.50. Burks is currently positioned on the Pro Football Network Consensus Big Board as the sixth-ranked receiver.
Other athletes in action during the Arkansas Pro Day 2022
John Ridgeway was another player who looked better at Arkansas‘ Pro Day than he did in Indianapolis. Ridgeway looked the part, and as a scout said, “That’s the way you want a defensive tackle to look and move.”
Ridgeway was fluid and looked good in position drills, which were run by Philadelphia Eagles defensive line coach Tracy Rocker. On the current PFN Big Board, Ridgeway is the ninth-ranked defensive tackle prospect.
Cornerback Montaric Brown timed 4.50s in the 40, a full tenth of a second better than his Combine time. He also touched 34 inches in the vertical jump. Brown was put through drills by A.J. Highsmith of the Buffalo Bills, and he looked terrific. Brown struggled with a hamstring injury which set his training back three weeks.
Linebacker Grant Morgan had a solid day. He timed in the high 4.7s in the 40 but posted
a short shuttle time of 4.10s, 6.79s in the three-cone, a vertical jump of 34.5 inches,
and completed 32 reps on the bench. Morgan participated in both linebacker and defensive
back drills.
Which teams met with Razorbacks at the 2022 Arkansas Pro Day?
Brown spent a lot of time with the Indianapolis Colts and Arizona Cardinals. Additionally, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears met with Morgan. The Dallas Cowboys, who will need a replacement for soon-to-be free agent Leighton Vander Esch, are also very high on him.
One player who did not work out was linebacker Hayden Henry, whom I’m told has decided
to retire from football.
