Arizona Cardinals 2024 Free Agency Predictions: Some Defensive and WR Help Down in Arizona

When a team finishes 4-13 and in last place in its division, any offensive or defensive player should help improve an organization. With Jonathan Gannon going through a rough rookie season on the sideline, what should the Arizona Cardinals work on during the 2024 NFL free agency term? Below are three Cardinals free agency predictions.

    Arizona Cardinals Free Agency Predictions

    Re-Sign Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown

The Cardinals believe they have their franchise quarterback already in place in Kyler Murray. To now take the next step in competing with the bullies of the NFC, Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort needs to be aggressive and give Murray weapons.

In Baltimore, Brown was explosive when playing alongside Lamar Jackson, including a 1,000-yard season in 2021.

Currently holding the No. 4 selection this upcoming April, all signs are pointing to the Cardinals taking a wide receiver, so keeping Brown in Arizona to pair with a talented rookie should be on the to-do list.

Sign Christian Wilkins Away From Miami

Maybe it happens, maybe it doesn’t, but Christian Wilkins wants to go to a team willing to pay him huge money, and the Miami Dolphins are likely not that team.

Coming off of an impressive season in which Wilkins was playing under the fifth-year option, the Cardinals could be in the mix to sign him on the open market. Arizona is expected to have between $52-59 million in available cap space.

How aggressive will the Cardinals be in making a splash on defense? That remains to be seen as free agency nears.

With Wilkins hitting the open market, the Cardinals should express interest. He’s coming off a nine-sack season, which would have been the most on Arizona’s roster this past season. In 2023, the Cardinals’ defense had just 33 sacks, with LB Dennis Gardeck leading the way with six.

    Sign WR Tyler Boyd

You can never go wrong with signing wide receivers; you just need to be cautious in how much money you’re willing to pay each one. The Cincinnati Bengals’ offense, since drafting QB Joe Burrow No. 1 overall in 2020, has relied mainly on two guys in Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

With Burrow getting his massive extension, the Bengals putting the franchise tag on Higgins, and Chase soon to earn a big payday, Tyler Boyd is likely to hit the open market.

If the Cardinals draft the explosive Marvin Harrison Jr. out of Ohio State this upcoming April, pairing him with Brown and Boyd wouldn’t be a terrible trio.
