Are Trevon Diggs and Stefon Diggs Related? A Look at the NFL Duo

The NFL has no shortage of past players who shared the same surname. Granted, common last names like Allen, Smith, White, Thomas, Thompson, and Campbell have sprouted across league rosters over the years.

Diggs, however, isn’t a ubiquitous name. Which leads to this question: Are Pro Bowlers Trevon and Stefon Diggs related?

Trevon and Stefon Diggs’ Family Relationship

Yes, indeed, the Diggs household has two siblings in the league. While Trevon is out with his torn ACL, they’ll be in the same venue for the first time in their league careers in Buffalo’s Highmark Stadium.

The Buffalo Bills star Stefon Diggs arrived in the NFL first. He’s the oldest brother compared to the Dallas Cowboys All-Pro defender Trevon.

The wide receiver Stefon is three years older than the cornerback at 28. He began his league journey in the 2015 season when he was 21 years old.

Trevon Diggs earned his NFL opportunity through the 2021 NFL Draft — when he was 23. Since then, he’s established himself as a bona fide star on the defensive side of the football.

Both hold one other claim: They’ve been league leaders before.

Stefon Diggs led the NFL in receptions and receiving yards in the 2020 season — the year before his brother entered the league. Trevon Diggs didn’t take long to become his own NFL leader in the main category for CBs: Interceptions. He snatched nine in his rookie season of 2021.

Now, ahead of their first game on the same field in Buffalo, Stefon Diggs is just seven yards away from posting his sixth straight 1,000-yard season. In addition to having 993 yards, he’s caught 87 passes in 13 games.

Trevon Diggs, unfortunately, is again nursing his devastating injury. In the process, though, he’s watched second-year cornerback DaRon Bland become a record-shattering pick-six king with five interceptions for a touchdown.

Did Trevon Diggs Share ‘Inside Information’ Ahead of Cowboys vs. Bills?

While the Cowboy won’t be on the field, Cowboys team reporter Patrik Walker wrote how Diggs hasn’t been shy about giving away nuggets on the Bills’ go-to wide receiver.

“The biggest focus for the Cowboys will be shutting down Josh Allen and the Bills’ offense, and that means trying to bottle up Stefon Diggs, older brother of Trevon Diggs, and the latter isn’t shy about sharing some inside information to help Gilmore get his job done and to help Dallas’ chances of escaping with a victory,” Walker wrote on Dec. 13.

And the recipient of that insider info? Stephon Gilmore NFL is expected to reconnect with a former AFC East WR rival of his from his New England Patriots years.

“He knows him a lot, and we talked about it a little bit during training camp,” Gilmore said via Walker. “I’m [also] going to go through my normal process and study him, and hope to play well against him.”

Whether that insider material can lift the Cowboys against the elder Diggs remains to be seen. Nevertheless, Buffalo will have a Diggs reunion on Sunday.
