    What Happened to Antonio Gibson?

Gibson suffered a lower-body injury at the end of a nine-yard catch-and-run during the first quarter of Sunday’s game in London. Trainers attended to the veteran before he got to his feet and jogged off the field under his own power. Gibson then went into the blue medical tent.

Rhamondre Stevenson replaced Gibson on the next play, and backup running back JaMycal Hasty scored a receiving touchdown moments later.

Gibson returned to the game for New England’s next drive. He finished with three carries and four yards along with one catch for nine yards on what was a rough day for Patriots running backs.

New England eventually suffered a 32-16 loss.

    Fantasy Implications of Gibson’s Injury

With Stevenson entering this morning’s game dealing with a foot issue, it sure looked like the Patriots planned on utilizing Gibson more to give their starter a break. But they were forced to change their plan.

If Gibson is limited, expect a heavy dose of Stevenson, even at less than 100%. Hasty is currently active as New England’s RB3 and should see increased burn with Stevenson and Gibson banged up.

If Gibson has to miss extended time, Hasty would not be a recommended pickup.
