‘Going Straight to the Court’ – Travis Hunter Smiles Ear to Ear After Anthony Edwards Gifts Him Game-Worn Kicks

After winning the 2024 Heisman Trophy and helping the Colorado Buffaloes to a 9-3 season and an Alamo Bowl appearance against the BYU Cougars, Travis Hunter is now enjoying the offseason. And on Wednesday, Jan. 22, the Colorado wide receiver/cornerback took in an NBA game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center.

Travis Hunter Receives 2 Items From Anthony Edwards

After the game, Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards gave the Buffaloes’ star a unique present — a pair of his game-worn Adidas AE1 sneakers.

Hunter proudly displayed the sneakers with the message, “Going straight to the court.”

Hunter thrives as a dual-threat athlete and has emerged as one of college football‘s most exciting players under Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders’ tutelage. Coach Prime, the NFL legend, gave Hunter the freedom and opportunity to express his overall game, creating an atmosphere that allowed him to succeed this past season.

    Hunter on Tennessee Titans Radar

Ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, Hunter is creating a stir. Tennessee Titans’ president of football operations, Chad Brinker, may have his eyes set on the Colorado wide receiver/cornerback, saying, “We won’t pass on a ‘generational talent’ with the first pick in the NFL Draft.”

Brinker won’t technically be making the pick — he indicated that the final say will come from new general manager Mike Borgonzi. As things stand, Cam Ward, the Miami Hurricanes’ quarterback, is the leading favorite to be selected first, followed by Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders.

Hunter, however, is a rare player who excels at both wide receiver and cornerback, and former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow wants him to continue playing both in the NFL.

“I would love to see it. Personally, I am a fan of him and a fan of his game. I am rooting for him to do both because it would be fun,” Tebow said to USA Today.

“I think he is so rare, so special. I just don’t think people realize how big, tall and long he is until you see him up close and personal. He’s not the same frame as a lot of corners and DBs. He’s bigger, he’s long. He makes other big guys look really small on the field,” added Tebow.

As the draft nears, Hunter’s athleticism and adaptability will be considered by top NFL franchises who will line up to secure his services.
