The Detroit Lions are flying high after clinching a playoff berth, and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has already started thinking about potential postseason matchups. On the “St. Brown Podcast,” the Lions wideout revealed his preference for a divisional foe if the Lions face one in the playoffs: the Minnesota Vikings over the Green Bay Packers.
Amon-Ra St. Brown Picks Vikings Over Packers To Play
The Lions currently hold the top seed in the NFC with a 12-1 record, but their division rivals aren’t far behind. The Vikings (11-2) and Packers (9-4) are both postseason-bound, with playoff scenarios that could pit these teams against each other.
Reflecting on the scenario, St. Brown said, “We haven’t played the Vikings a second time yet, but I would probably say the Vikings.”
However, the Pro Bowl receiver was frustrated about facing either team for a third time in a single season.
“Playing a team three times in a season just sounds absurd. Three times in one season? That’s like a series. That’s like some NBA s*** … Playing a division team in the playoffs, it gets nutty. You don’t know what’s gonna happen.”

The Lions already boast a 3-0 record against NFC North powerhouses this season, including the 31-29 victory over Minnesota in Week 7 and a two-game sweep of Green Bay.
Detroit’s run under head coach Dan Campbell has fans buzzing. The team’s aggressive style, highlighted by a league-best 15 for 22 fourth-down conversion rate, has made them a tough opponent week after week.
But Campbell knows the work isn’t over. “I love the pressure. It keeps us sharp… I think we do well with pressure, and it’s the right kind of friction and stress that we need, and it’s motivating,” he said.
The Lions now prepare for their remaining schedule, which ranks as the third-toughest, according to PFN’s metrics.
“We’ve given ourselves an opportunity postseason, which is great; that’s all you need, and so we’ve got that. But any time you play the best of the best, the best competition, you can’t help but get better. Whatever it takes to win those games, you learn how to win those games. You learn a new way to win,” the Lions HC said.
Both the Vikings and the Packers present unique challenges. Minnesota’s high-powered offense and Green Bay’s gritty defense make both teams dangerous in the postseason.
However, before getting to those games, Campbell has to find a way to defeat the Buffalo Bills in Week 15. Buffalo has won four straight meetings between the two teams and last handed the Lions a loss two years ago on the road by a score of 28-25.
Meanwhile, the Lions are eyeing a deep playoff run as the NFC North heats up. Who knows…they may meet Buffalo again in the final game of the season.
