Amon-Ra St. Brown is one of the best receivers in the NFL. He is a fan favorite not only because of his skill set but also because of his funny nature, which is often visible in his celebrations and social media posts.
The Detroit Lions played the San Francisco 49ers in Week 17, a game that wasn’t significant for the NFC North team. Despite that, Lions head coach Dan Campbell played all the starters, which was apparently not taken well by Fred Warner.
The 49ers linebacker gave a fiery pre-game speech in front of his teammates, which St. Brown later mocked.
Amon-Ra St. Brown Trolled Fred Warner After Winning vs. 49ers
Warner is arguably the best linebacker in the league and the leader of the 49ers. He sent a stern message to his teammates about how their effort should be for the game against the Lions.
“Dan Campbell said ‘We’re bringing everybody to the West Coast.’ For what? To get your a** beat tonight?” Warner said during his pre-game speech. “They got to leave like this, limping, limping home [Warner imitates limping], put your f*****g forehead on their f*****g forehead and let them feel it from the first play to the last. It’s our house, make that s**t personal.”
St. Brown apparently took offense with the limping part from Warner’s speech, and he posted a screenshot of the linebacker in his latest post on Instagram.
This isn’t the first time the Lions wide receiver has made fun of an opponent, and it won’t be the last. Earlier this season, he wore an outfit that read “Green Bay Sucks,” and it wasn’t taken well by Packers fans.
St. Brown usually follows through on his promises, and so does the Lions team. Campbell has instilled a winning mentality in the players, and they never hesitate to put on a show both on and off the field.
The Lions also executed a stunning trick play in the win against the 49ers in which St. Brown made a lateral pass to Jameson Williams, who scored a hook-and-ladder touchdown.
St. Brown finished the game with eight receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown. He deserves to take shots at the 49ers after the win and did it at Warner’s expense.
Lions Have a Blockbuster Matchup in Week 18
The Lions will play the Minnesota Vikings in Week 18. The game holds a lot of importance as the winning team will win the NFC North and also secure the first seed in the NFC, while the losing team will be the fifth seed and will start the playoffs on the road despite winning 14 games.
Detroit came away with a 31-29 win against Minnesota when the two faced each other in Week 7; St. Brown had eight receptions for 112 yards and a touchdown in that game, and he will hope to have a similar impact this time around.
The Week 18 game will be played in Detroit, and the Lions are a three-point favorite. However, the Vikings have enough firepower to pull off an upset, as their offense can easily score 40 points on an injury-ridden Lions defense that gave up 34 points to the 49ers.
St. Brown, Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Williams will have to be at their best against the Vikings for their team to have a chance of winning on Sunday Night Football.
