Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown has been a top-12 fantasy football receiver in each of his past three games and has established himself as one of the most consistent options in our game.
With his ascent, fantasy teams are now relying on him, making his addition to the injury report Sunday afternoon awfully concerning. What can managers do?
Latest Injury Update on Amon-Ra St. Brown
Brown, who is suffering from an undisclosed illness, was listed as questionable for Monday’s game vs. the Raiders. The last-second addition to the injury report is a reaction to the Bijan Robinson situation last week, as the Lions are looking to put all of their cards on the table in an effort to appease the league.
At this moment, we don’t have any reason to think that this illness is something that will truly put the star’s status for MNF in question, but fantasy managers need to be ready for anything now that we have this information.
Fantasy Implications of St. Brown’s Illness
Given the timing of this game, fantasy managers are left without much in the way of options. If you were able to act quickly and clear a roster spot for a Monday Night Football insurance policy, the options are thin.
Michael Mayer, TE, Raiders
The rookie tight end has seen his role grow with time, and while the floor is low, the pedigree is interesting in a spot where the Raiders are going to be in a spot where they want to keep the Lions off the field.
Tre Tucker, WR, Raiders
The third-round rookie is a thin play, but the Raiders have handed him the ball in all four games in which he has played, and he has caught multiple passes in each of the past two weeks.

Given the usage of Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers, there isn’t a ton of target equity here, but if you’re stuck in a deeper league — he should at least be on the field, and that gives you a fighting chance should St. Brown sit.
Jameson Williams, WR, Lions
He is my favorite of the available options. No, not because I feel great about his production, but because if you are going to be without your best receiver, you need access to some serious upside.
The burner out of Alabama has scored on two of his five career receptions, averaging 19.2 yards per catch in the process. He has yet to prove himself as an NFL-level target earner, but the physical gifts are no secret. If you’re in a tough spot, adding Williams gives you a chance at top-30 production — with the downside really not factoring because of the position you’re in with only one game left this week.
Josh Reynolds, WR, Lions
The seven-year veteran doesn’t offer the same upside as Williams, but he is averaging 18.3 yards per catch this season (career: 13.5) and has earned 5+ targets on four occasions this season. His floor is the highest of the available options for a St. Brown fill-in, something that could be appealing if you’re currently projected to win your matchup.
