Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper has been one of the top receivers in the NFL during his time in the league, and his contract reflects his status as one of the league’s best.
After stints with the Las Vegas Raiders and Dallas Cowboys, the star wideout is now being paid handsomely by the Browns. How much is his yearly salary, and what is his net worth?
What Is Amari Cooper’s Salary?
Cooper signed a five-year $100 million contract in 2020 with the Dallas Cowboys, per Spotrac. That contract rolled over to the Browns when he was traded in March 2022. The contract makes Cooper the 13th-highest-paid receiver in the NFL.
In 2023 and 2024, Cooper’s salary is $20 million, with a bonus of $3.7 million. That means Cooper carries a cap hit of $23.7 million over the last two years of his contract. The yearly cap hit is the second highest on the Browns roster after QB Deshaun Watson. However, there is a significant decrease in the dead cap hit moving into 2024.
If the Browns had moved on from Cooper in 2023, it could have cost them a hefty $35 million in dead money. However, if the Browns feel 2024 is the right time to move on, it will cost them just $11.3 million in dead money.

The contract included a $10 million signing bonus and $40 million guaranteed. With injury guarantees included, the total guarantees in Cooper’s contract amount to $60 million.
The Browns opted to convert some of his contract when Cooper was traded. Cleveland converted $18.88 million of Cooper’s 2022 yearly salary into a bonus, which allowed them to add void years onto the end of the contract. It meant that in 2022, Cooper’s salary was only $1.1 million, creating extra cap space for the Browns.
The two void years are 2025 and 2026 if Cooper doesn’t make changes or sign a new contract extension. In 2025, Cooper will cost $7.5 million against the cap. In 2026, the Browns will carry $3.7 million in dead money.
Cooper’s Net Worth
Forbes reports Cooper’s net worth to be $39.4 million as of May 2022. The estimate takes into account his salary, endorsements, and sponsorships. The star receiver hasn’t been scared to flash the cash and recently bought a supercar.
Cooper was drafted by the Raiders in 2015, and, after spending nine years in the league with three teams, has career earnings of over $116 million.
He earned $22 million in four seasons with the Raiders, $54 million in four seasons with the Cowboys, and has thus far earned $40 million in his first two years with the Browns.
