New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard did not practice on Wednesday due to a chest injury. Will Lazard be able to play in Week 8 when the Jets face the New England Patriots? Here’s the latest injury update on Lazard.

What Happened to Allen Lazard?
It’s unclear when Lazard suffered this chest injury, as this is a new ailment. He played in the Jets’ Week 7 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, catching four passes for 58 yards in the 37-15 loss on Sunday Night Football.

Keep an eye on the practice reports throughout the remainder of the week to see if Lazard is able to get in a limited or full practice. Then, check the Jets’ injury report on Friday to see if Lazard has an injury designation for Week 8 against the Patriots.
Even if Lazard is healthy, he’s unlikely to start for many fantasy teams, given his diminished role since the Jets acquired Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders. As Adams gets acclimated, it likely eats into Lazard’s target share.
Fantasy Outlook for Lazard
Lazard caught all four of his targets last week for 58 yards and might fill a decent role in this offense, but I don’t expect it to be fantasy-friendly.
His value has largely been the result of his five touchdowns on the back of a 31.3% red-zone target rate, a role that I don’t think he has a prayer of sustaining with Adams now in town.
If I’m going to roster a hit-or-miss receiver like this, I want more offensive upside than what the Jets have to offer with their WR3.
I’d take any Green Bay Packers receiver moving forward over this former Packer or even someone like Washington Commanders receiver Noah Brown since he could work into a viable role when Jayden Daniels is active.
