Allegiant Stadium Cost: How Expensive Was It To Build the Home of Super Bowl 58?

    Published on

With the Super Bowl set to be played at Allegiant Stadium, we take a look at how much it cost to build the stadium and other info about the venue.

Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders along with Sofi Stadium, is the newest stadium in the NFL. With Allegiant ready to take center stage ahead of Super Bowl 58, as the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers clash for the right to lift the Lombardi Trophy, all eyes will be on the architectural masterpiece.

But just how much did it cost to build the massive structure? We take a closer look at the stadium and just how much it costs to build it and become one of the newest stadiums in the NFL and much more.

How Much Did It Cost To Build Allegiant Stadium

Allegiant Stadium is one of the world’s most modern, state-of-the-art stadiums built with technological advances and design that puts it ahead of its time amongst its counterparts.

The stadium opened in 2020 and cost approximately $1.9 billion to build. Construction began in 2017, with the groundbreaking coming in November. The stadium was officially completed and opened in July 2020.

Despite being an indoor stadium, the domed structure has an interchangeable surface. The Raiders play on a natural grass field, while the UNLV Rebels play on artificial turf.

For the Super Bowl, the 49ers and Chiefs will be playing on the grass surface, and with added attention to detail being paid attention to the playing surface, it is expected the field will be in pristine condition. This comes off the heels of last year’s Super Bowl in Arizona, with the playing surface and its slippery texture being a topic of discussion.

    Allegiant Stadium’s Seating Capacity

The capacity for Allegiant Stadium when it comes to an NFL game is 65,000 people and can be expanded to fit 71,835 people in total. For the Super Bowl, which is always a sold-out event, every seat is expected to be filled and accounted for, including the suites that have been going for over $1 million per box.

While the Super Bowl will be the most high-profile event the stadium will host, it has also hosted several other big-time sporting events in its short history.

Allegiant Stadium annually hosts the Las Vegas Bowl while also having hosted the Pac-12 Championship Game, the Vegas Kickoff Classic, the 2023 East-West Shrine Bowl, and the 2022 Pro Bowl.
