Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe failed to get his to the SEC Championship Game or the College Football Playoff this season. Additionally, the Crimson Tide were upset in the ReliaQuest Bowl, 19-13, to the Michigan Wolverines on New Year’s Eve.
Yet, Milroe was not the primary reason for Alabama’s failures this season. He was a very effective player and, as a result, is expected to have played his last game for the Crimson Tide and declare for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Jalen Milroe Sparks Rumors He’ll Enter 2025 NFL Draft With Latest Instagram Story
Milroe still has another season of NCAA eligibility, but it looks like he won’t be using it. He made a few posts on his Instagram story, one of a picture of him playing football as a kid and one of Alabama’s football field.

In the second post, Milroe wrote, “Dear younger me, you’d be so proud of how far we’ve come. You faced the impossible with strength and kept smiling when most wouldn’t. I promise to keep making you proud. The best is yet to come.”
Based on those comments, it appears Milroe is preparing for the next stage of his life. If that’s the case, the most logical conclusion is that he intends to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft.
How High Could Milroe Go in the Draft?
Milroe’s draft stock has been all over the place in recent months. There were times early in the season when he was viewed as one of the top quarterbacks in this draft class. While the 2025 class is believed to be a bit weaker at the position, that is still impressive.
However, Alabama’s decline at the end of the season has dropped Milroe’s draft stock considerably. He is no longer viewed as a lock to go in Round 1, with some pundits projecting that he could be drafted much later.
Still, with teams always interested in drafting quarterbacks, it’s unlikely he will fall very far through the draft process.
Milroe is an appealing prospect because of his ability to run the ball. His dynamic running ability gave Alabama a unique look on offense this season. Yet, there are questions about how effective he can be at throwing the ball. Although he was an effective passer this season, he was not elite in that area.
