‘RISE FROM THE ASHES’: Aidan Hutchinson’s Sister Mia Shares Hopeful Message After Brother’s Brutal Injury

    Published on

Following Aidan Hutchinson's leg injury, his sisters, Mia and Aria, shared heartfelt and motivating message for the Detroit Lions athlete.

Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson wouldn’t have thought that his season would come to such a heartbreaking end. The 24-year-old suffered a brutal injury during the game against the Dallas Cowboys.

In the Week 6 game, Hutchinson led the NFL with 7.5 sacks. However, the Lions will have to make do without the DE’s services for the rest of the season as he sustained a devastating leg fracture after being accidentally hit by teammate Alim McNeill while trying to sack Dak Prescott.

Following the injury, Hutchinson’s sister, Mia, took to Instagram to reshare a post from Aidan’s apparel brand, House of HUTCH, quoting Detroit’s Latin motto:

“Speramus Meliora. Resurget Cineribus” — translating to “We hope for better things” and “We will rise from the ashes.”

Now etched in Detroit’s history, the phrase will be a powerful symbol for Aidan to make a quick comeback. Along with Mia’s message, Aidan’s other sister, Aria Hutchinson, Miss Michigan USA 2022, also shares a message of hope:

    “Please pray for Aidan💙”

The injury was so horrific that Fox, which aired the game, chose not to show a replay.

    Aidan Hutchinson Undergoes Successful Surgery

A swift course of action regarding medical steps occurred after the gruesome incident with Lions DE. While an air cast was put on his leg by medical experts on the field, Hutchinson underwent a successful surgery after being taken to a local hospital.

Hutchinson fractured his tibia during the third quarter while sacking Prescott. Lions head coach Dan Campbell expressed his sympathy for Hutchinson.

“Hate it for Hutch. That’s tough … He’s in good hands right now. He’s being taken care of. He’ll stay back here, and obviously, he’s going to be down a little while, so that’s tough, and it’s hard when you lose somebody like him. We’ll know a lot more after this and obviously wish him the best.”

Before his injury, Hutchinson was firing on all cylinders on the field. He had already racked up three tackles, a sack, and three quarterback hits. The Lions posted a dominant 47-9 victory over the Cowboys, but his absence from here on leaves a void in the Lions’ defense, as he was a top contender for Defensive Player of the Year.
