Indianapolis Colts
The biggest story out of Indianapolis Colts camp so far is starting quarterback Andrew Luck‘s nagging calf strain. An injury he incurred nearly three months ago that’s caused him to miss on much of the Colts offseason program with the hopes of being full-go by training camp.
Luck was a full-participant in three of the first four days of camp before feeling a “yank” when he pivoted and pushed off during last Sunday’s 7-on-7 drills (the first in full pads):
“It’s like, ‘Ooh, I feel like something going to yank, something’s going to pull trying to change direction aggressively,’” Luck said. “And that’s something that you need to do to play football, and I’m not there yet.”
The Colts starting quarterback has not practiced since. Though not thought to be at risk for more serious complications, Luck explained why he intends to resolve the issue rather than allowing it to linger.
