    Adam Thielen Injury Update

Up to the point of his injury, Thielen had caught three passes for 34 yards, with the Panthers leading the Vikings, 10-7.

Thielen was seen on the sideline attempting to run on the leg but was in obvious pain. He was then worked on by the training staff and had the ankle taped up.

He returned to the game with just over 4:40 to go in the second quarter.

Thielen has been Carolina’s most productive wide receiver so far this season, with 20 catches for 211 yards and two touchdowns through the first three games. The two-time Pro Bowler signed a three-year, $25 million contract with the Panthers this offseason after spending the first nine years of his career with the Vikings.

Sunday’s contest marks Thielen’s first game against his former team.

    Fantasy Fallout from Thielen’s Injury

The Panthers are already short-handed at the wide receiver position without Jonathan Mingo available for today’s game against the Vikings. Thielen was having a very productive against his former team, logging three receptions for 34 yards prior to sustaining an injury.

If Thielen is unable to return to this contest, expect an expanded role for DJ Chark, Laviska Shenault Jr., and Terrace Marshall Jr. for the rest of today and additional time moving forward if Thielen should miss time.
