Cary Angeline NFL Draft Scouting Report | Tight End

Positives: Underrated tight end who is effective as a short-range pass catcher and blocker. Finds the soft spot in the defense, displays good eye/hand coordination, and makes the reception away from his frame. Sneaks downfield, tracks the pass in the air, and snatches the ball away from his frame. Gives effort blocking all over the field. Squares into opponents and works blocks. Possesses outstanding length

Negatives: Slows and gathers into pass routes. Overextends into blocks. Plays to one speed and lacks a burst as well as downfield speed.

Analysis: Angeline is a smart, tough tight end with the pass-catching and blocking skills to make it as a No. 3 at the next level.

Joe Sculthorpe NFL Draft Scouting Report | Offensive Line

Positives: Hard-working, small-area blocker with limited upside. Bends his knees, stays square, and blocks with leverage. Keeps his feet moving, keeps defenders in front of him, and works blocks. Always looks for someone to hit and gets movement run blocking.

Negatives: Beaten by quick or speedy opponents and cannot slide in space. Ineffective blocking in motion and pulling across the line of scrimmage.

Analysis: Sculthorpe possesses solid size, but he’s an average athlete who lacks scheme versatility as well as upside.

Josh Fedd-Jackson NFL Draft Scouting Report | Offensive Line

Positives: Strong, powerful lineman whose career has been in a tailspin the past year. Explosive, easily controls defenders at the point of attack and dominates opponents. Squares into defenders, easily turns them from the action, and plays with a nasty attitude. Blocks with terrific lean and anchors in pass protection. Displays outstanding blocking vision.

Negatives: Gets tall and must do a better job consistently blocking with leverage. Overextends into blocks and bends at the waist. Only effective in a small area.

Analysis: Fedd-Jackson displayed flashes of next-level potential in 2019 before his career at North Carolina State went off the rails. He’s a large, powerful blocker who is best in a power gap system, though a lot must be figured out if Fedd-Jackson is to have a career in the NFL.

Justin Witt NFL Draft Scouting Report | Offensive Line

Positives: Tall, big-bodied blocker who is best in a small area. Blocks with solid knee bend and pad level, keeps his feet moving in pass protection, and shows patience. Makes terrific use of blocking angles. Large enough to seal defenders from the action and engulf them from plays altogether.

Negatives: Lacks agility, struggles to adjust, and tends to fumble over his own feet. Overextends into blocks.

Analysis: Witt is a size prospect with growth potential who should get consideration on a practice squad.

2021 NFL Draft | ACC Scouting Reports: Pittsburgh Panthers

Bryce Hargrove NFL Draft Scouting Report | Offensive Line

Positives: Nice-sized lineman who showed flashes of next-level ability the past two seasons. Stays square, gets his hands into defenders, and anchors in pass protection. Keeps his head on a swivel, works well with linemates, and keeps his feet moving. Quick pulling across the line of scrimmage. Works blocks hard and engulfs opponents, taking them from the action.

Negatives: Must do a better job sinking his butt at the line of scrimmage. Gets tall as the play proceeds and does not consistently block with leverage. Does a lot of leaning on opponents.

Analysis: Hargrove was a consistent lineman for Pittsburgh but comes with average size and poor play speed. More than anything else though, he must improve his blocking fundamentals.
