Aaron Rodgers Shares Optimism About Jets This Season – ‘I Like Our Chances’

    Published on

Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets never really got a chance to get off the ground in 2023. However, the veteran QB likes the team's chances this season.

The 2023 NFL season did not at all go the way Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets thought it was going to. What had much anticipation and excitement as Rodgers took his talents to the Big Apple, turned into disaster in just a few plays. Once Rodgers was ruled out for the season with a torn Achilles tendon, the season went off the rails fast.

However, heading into 2024, Rodgers is readying his body and mind to give it another go. And while 2023 was a disappointment in every way for the QB and the team, he spoke about the next season with hopefulness and confidence.

Aaron Rodgers Optimistic About the Jets in 2024

While joining Cameron Hanes on his YouTube channel, Rodgers got candid about his feelings of disappointment that he felt after his injury in 2023 and shared his optimistic view for himself and the team in 2024.

“That was what was so disheartening and heartbreaking about last year was the work that I put in at 39 to put myself in a position to be able to play the whole season,” Rodgers started.

“I grinded, I came back as fit as I’ve been in a long time and hired a chef that helped me with my diet and constant body stuff. So to just be able to like get through the season and then f—— play four plays was really, really tough.

“I like our chances, I like our guys, I like our coaching staff. We just gotta put it all together…I think we got the right guys, we got a good group of really talented young guys…

“I like our chances, and I feel like if I’m out there, we always got a chance.”

It’s clear that there’s real frustration for Rodgers in what was a lost season. The veteran QB put a lot on the line, understood the opportunity in front of them, and is saddened by the fact it was all squandered in just four plays.

However, as the superstar quarterback turns the page to 2024, Rodgers seems to have the same excitement and eagerness heading into the season that he had last year. He’s always been one to speak candidly when it comes to things on his mind, and when speaking about the Jets, he knows there’s more work to be done.
