Aaron Rodgers Gets Vulnerable About Jets’ Disappointing 3-9 Record

The Jets quarterback realizes his shortcomings this season, as the 41-year-old star shared how he had several chances to make impactful plays in various games, especially in the fourth quarter; however, his mistakes contributed to the team’s losses — five times to be precise.

During his interview with Pat McAfee, Rodgers expressed his desire to finish the season strong despite the challenges this year. He said, “I just want to finish off as well as we can.”

Rodgers went on to reflect on the fact that he could make game-winning touchdowns various times this season but was unable to, leaving the Jets with a 0-5 record.

Reflecting on the fact, Rodgers stated, “It’s been a rough season. A lot of opportunities to win games that we didn’t get the job done in the fourth quarter. Some of those games were won and lost in maybe the first, second, and third quarter if you go back to some of the important impact plays, which again was the case on Sunday. When you have a chance to win in the fourth quarter and you come up short it’s always a little extra disappointing.”

The Jets quarterback also shared that he understands the importance of playing all 17 weeks, especially with his $37,500,000 average annual salary.

“We get paid for 17 weeks, not 10, not 11, not five. So if you’re the starter, you want to play all the games. You want to be out there with my guys and battle as long as I feel healthy. Body feels as good as it felt, whether fortunately or unfortunately for the situation. … I want to battle. I have a lot of pride in playing.”

Rodgers went on to share his goals for this season; he mentioned that one of his primary goals when returning from his Achilles injury was to play all 17 games, which would not be possible in 2024.

Despite the disappointing year, the Jets QB remains optimistic, noting that five games are still left in the season, expressing that he would want to finish it off with a bang and continue working hard with his teammates.

The Jets will now face the Miami Dolphins in Week 14 at 1 p.m. ET in an AFC East showdown.
