Aaron Rodgers Pays To Take Entire Jets O-Line to Las Vegas

The New York Jets 2023 season did not go as anyone expected, ending with them missing the playoffs and holding a 7-10 record. A big reason for the letdown was the injury suffered by quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

However, despite missing essentially the entire season, Rodgers still has love for his teammates. He recently paid to take his entire offensive line out to Las Vegas.

Aaron Rodgers Treats Offensive Line Despite Injury

On just the fourth snap of the season, Rodgers went down with what would be confirmed as a torn Achilles.

Rodgers recovered from the injury better than normal and was even activated off of injured reserve late in the season, but was unable to return in time.

Rodgers has openly written the 2023 season off as a “lost year.” He has decided, though, that he wants to play beyond just the 2024 season. “I don’t think next year will be my last year,” Rodgers said.

“With some of the things that I’ve learned over the last year in taking care of my body and surrounding myself with some great people who have been helping me with my nutrition and my functional training at an acute level,” he said. Rodgers turned 40 years old on Dec. 2.

The Jets had one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL in 2023. The unit did suffer injuries, however, with season-starter left tackle Duane Brown going down. Former first-round pick Mekhi Becton allowed a league-high 12 sacks and had the second-most penalties with 18.

Some others on New York’s offensive line include Laken Tomlinson, Joe Tippman, Max Mitchell, Carter Warren, and more. Center Connor McGovern, tackle Alijah Vera-Tucker, and guard Wes Schweitzer all suffered season-ending injuries as well.

Regardless of the struggles and injuries, Schweitzer shared on Instagram that Rodgers took the team’s offensive line on a trip to Vegas. In the post, he shared that almost the entire unit showed up, with 12 different linemen appearing in addition to Rodgers.

When he joined the Jets, Rodgers and the team agreed to a revised three-year $112.5 million contract with $75 million fully guaranteed. This came after he joined New York on a three-year $150.8 million deal, meaning he took a nearly $40 million pay cut.

Rodgers was drafted into the NFL by the Green Bay Packers in the 2005 NFL Draft. He has since won four MVP awards and been named a four-time first-team All-Pro, one-time second-team All-Pro, and 10-time Pro Bowler. He was also named to the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade team.

In his career, he’s passed for 59,055 yards, 475 touchdowns, and 105 interceptions. He’s won just one Super Bowl, which came in 2011 when he was named Super Bowl MVP.
