The biggest stars in sports take center stage on Sunday, and I don’t mean the NFL or Super Bowl LV. That’s right, get your puppy chow ready and sit back for the 17th annual Puppy Bowl. Let’s go over what channel you can find the 2021 Puppy Bowl and who our two hosts will be for this pawsitively fantastic event.
Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg host the 2021 Puppy Bowl
That’s right, everyone. The 2021 Puppy Bowl will be hosted by your favorite couple. The man from LBC, Snoop Dogg, is back with the top dog of the kitchen and crafts, Martha Stewart. Together they will be the hosts of the 17th annual Puppy Bowl.
If you had never seen these two together, you would never think it would work. Yet, you would be wrong. In fact, they go together like macramé doilies and beige throw pillows or gin and juice.
The two met in 2008 when Snoop made mashed potatoes with Stewart on her show “Martha.” But their friendship took off when they teamed up with Comedy Central to roast Justin Bieber in 2015.
Also joining in on the fun as announcers are ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” play-by-play announcer Steve Levy and “SportsCenter” host Sage Steele.
The 2021 Puppy Bowl will feature 70 of the best four-legged athletes there are
Most channels don’t even try to compete with the Super Bowl. Instead, allowing the NFL and its over 100 million viewers to have their day. Not these two, however, or these puppies for that matter.
On Sunday, Team Ruff and Team Fluff faceoff, wearing different colored bandanas to identify their team. The Fluff squad will be identifiable by the “Tail Mary Tangerine” color of their bandanas. Team Ruff, who is looking to bounce back from last year’s defeat, will be sporting “Bark Blue.”
I mean, all credit to Tom Brady for making it to his tenth Super Bowl, but he can’t hold a candle to these two teams. Team Ruff and Team Fluff have matched up every year since 2005. Talk about a dominant stretch. Maybe someone needs to institute a salary cap or something.
Fans can expect everything from slow-mo replays, wet nose-to-nose action, and puppy cheerleaders. In addition, there will even be a halftime show featuring kittens. I bet The Weeknd can’t top that one.

Puppy Bowl XVII: Team Ruff and Team Fluff

While this game would be good enough for the content, the 2021 Puppy Bowl has a much larger meaning.
Puppy Bowl 17 continues the tradition of featuring adoptable dogs from several shelters in the United States. Over the past 16 years, the Puppy Bowl has seen every puppy adopted that has been featured in the game. This year, the 70 puppies will come from 22 animal shelters and rescue organizations from across the northeast.
For this year’s game, the Animal Planet team found a hockey arena in upstate Glens Falls, New York to film with social distancing in place.
Can you bet on the Puppy Bowl?
As with most things anymore, you absolutely can bet on the 2021 Puppy Bowl. It can be somewhat challenging to find sites that will host bets on the 2021 Puppy Bowl, but they are out there. Make no bones about it; if you hound bookies enough, they’ll bite. You just have to throw them a bone or two.
Heading into the weekend, Team Ruff is the -140 favorite over Team Fluff at +100. If we go back to 2015 when they started keeping score, the two sides are tied. Team Ruff blew out Team Fluff in their first two meetings by a combined score of 157 to 93. However, Team Fluff stopped chasing their tail and have won three of the last four, including last year’s game 63 to 59.
Don’t always expect a clean game, however. These refs will throw the occasional flag. Penalties can accrue if a puppy urinates or defecates on the field (poor sportsmanship). Other penalties include “intimidating the referee” and “lying down instead of playing.”
The MVP award could be a hotly contested race
Furthermore, you can even wager on the 2021 Puppy Bowl’s Most Valuable Puppy too. Right now, male is -130, with female coming in at -110. Similar to the results, the MVP has been evenly split over the last six Puppy Bowls.
I would go over some of the contenders, but I got so sidetracked by the cuteness I forgot what I was going to say. If there is going to be a crowd favorite, Jett might be the steal of the show. If the name is your thing, Team Fluff has a Chow Chow/Irish Red and White Setter named Chunky Monkey. Here is the full list of participants.
I know one thing, I’m going to have the channel set to Animal Planet and watch the 2021 Puppy Bowl while hoping all of them have a good time because, quite frankly, we don’t deserve dogs.
