The NFL Conference Championships have concluded, the winners crowned, and the modified Pro Bowl festivities have concluded. It is time for the biggest game of the season: Super Bowl 55. Let’s take a look at what channel, and where, when, and who is playing for the Super Bowl.
When is the Super Bowl?
Let’s find out what time you can watch Super Bowl 55 and what channels the game appears on.
Super Bowl 55: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

QB Patrick Mahomes, head coach Andy Reid, and the Kansas City Chiefs are playing in consecutive Super Bowls. They face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are playing in their first Super Bowl since the 2002 season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will become the first team in NFL history to play a Super Bowl in their home stadium. Buccaneers’ QB Tom Brady will make his 10th Super Bowl appearance, five more than the next QB (Broncos’ Hall of Fame QB John Elway). CBS was the channel chosen to broadcast the Super Bowl, which features Jim Nantz and Tony Romo in the booth.
Recap from the Conference Championships
The Chiefs’ offense improved from the Divisional Round in their 38-24 AFC Conference Championship victory over the Buffalo Bills. Outside of a muffed punt from WR Mecole Hardman in the first quarter, which put the Chiefs in a 9-0 hole, Kansas City controlled the rest of the game.
Mahomes threw 3 touchdowns, and RBs Darrel Williams and Clyde Edwards-Helaire each added one on the ground. Kansas City WR Tyreek Hill caught 9 passes for 172 yards, a postseason high, and TE Travis Kelce found himself on the receiving end of 2 touchdowns from Mahomes.
Brady and the Buccaneers flipped the script. The Buccaneers’ offense scored 21 points in the first half while the defense held Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to just 10 points. However, the offense fell back to Earth in the second half.

After scoring another touchdown with 13 minutes and 54 seconds left in the third and extending their lead to 28-10, Tampa failed to score again until four minutes and 42 seconds remaining in the game. This scoreless stint was also coupled with three straight drives ending in an interception and coming dangerously close to a last-second loss courtesy of Aaron Rodgers.
Both of these offenses have proven they can explode, but will they be able to stay consistent and avoid the lulls they have displayed this season? With the Super Bowl set for a 6:30 PM ET kickoff time, fans should be treated to a premier Super Bowl LV matchup.
