For most of us who played in fantasy football this season, this is your first weekend to sit back and just be a fan. With only six games on the slate for the NFL’s Wild Card Weekend, the weather report is going to be a bit shorter. As with tradition, we break down the slate and see what the NFL weather forecast and report will look like for the Wild Card Weekend.
NFL Weather Forecast and Report | Wild Card Games
Please note that all times are eastern standard time, and the NFL Wild Card weather report will be updated if any changes happen from the time of writing this up to kickoff. The NFL weather forecast for Wild Card Weekend is based on information from the National Weather Service.
Week 17 was a bit of a mess last week, but luckily enough, it wasn’t too bad. For the Wild Card Weekend of the playoffs, we get a huge break. Of the five outdoor games, there should be nothing but great weather for all of them.
No Weather Report/Forecast
Indoor Games for the Wild Card Weekend
Because these NFL games are indoors, the weather conditions can be controlled, and as such, the only forecast and reports are that it will be optimal playing conditions for these teams. The passing and kicking game will not be affected.
- Chicago Bears at New Orleans Saints (Sunday 4:40 PM ET)
Worry-free NFL weather forecasts for Wild Card Weekend
Indianapolis Colts (7 seed) at Buffalo Bills (2 seed)
Saturday 1:00 PM ET
The Colts sneak their way into the playoffs and will be greeted by Josh Allen and Bills Mafia, who get to be at their first game this season. However, no tables will be broken. The question for me is, can Jonathan Taylor stay at the torrent pace he’s been on over the back half of the season?
Jonathan Taylor joined Hall of Famers Edgerrin James and Marshall Faulk as the only rookies in Colts history with 1,000-plus rushing yards and 10-plus rushing TDs in a season. Taylor has 70-plus rushing yards in six straight games and capped it off with a 253-yard performance in Week 17.
When looking at the NFL weather report for this Wild Card game, look for partly cloudy skies, four-mph winds, and 35-degree temperatures.
Los Angeles Rams (6 seed) at Seattle Seahawks (3 seed)
Saturday 4:40 PM ET
In the rubber match for the 2020 season, things are uncertain for the Los Angeles Rams. They secured the playoff spot last week without Jared Goff and Cooper Kupp. It sounds like Kupp will play this week, but it’s less certain about Goff.
Yes, the Rams’ number one-ranked pass defense could keep Seattle from blowing them out. But unless Goff can return, it’s up to former-AAF QB John Wolford to get the team a playoff win in hostile territory against the division’s champ.
Expect 46-degree temperatures, light winds, and partly sunny skies in Seattle for the Wild Card weather forecast.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5 seed) at Washington Football Team (4 seed)
Saturday 8:15 PM ET
After somehow winning the division in one of the strangest games I can remember, rookie DE Chase Young looked in the camera and yelled, “I want Tom!” Well, you get your chance on Saturday.
The battle in the trenches is what I will be watching. Washington has a very stout front seven capable of sending only four guys and still getting pressure. Yes, Brady is one of the better QBs working in the pocket. However, when under heavy pressure, he can falter at times. With Mike Evans a game-time decision (knee), both Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown will be heavily involved.
The Wild Card weather forecast for Washington calls for 35-degree temperatures, seven mph winds, and clear skies.
Baltimore Ravens (5-seed) at Tennessee Titans (4-seed)
Sunday 1:05 PM ET
Sunday’s action kicks off with a rematch from the 2019 NFL Playoffs between the Ravens and Titans. This time though it’s in Nashville.
In last year’s game, Tennessee got out ahead early and forced Baltimore to abandon the running game. This led Lamar Jackson to attempt a career-high 59 attempts.
We know Jackson’s struggles in the playoffs. But Baltimore could rely on the rushing game this week rather than putting it solely on their QB. They have rushed for over 230 yards in four of their last five games. And rookie J.K. Dobbins has been on fire.
Over the last six games, Dobbins has six touchdowns and rushed for 495 yards. A career-high 160 of those yards came in Week 17 against the Cincinnati Bengals to help Baltimore clinch their Wild Card spot. The last time these teams met up (Week 11), Dobbins had 85 total yards and a touchdown to finish as the RB5.
As far as the Wild Card weather forecast for Music City, expect 41-degree temperatures, five-mph winds, and mostly sunny skies.
Cleveland Browns (6-seed) at Pittsburgh Steelers (3-seed)
Sunday 8:15 PM ET
If the Steelers lose, is this QB Ben Roethlisberger’s last game? Is JuJu Smith-Schuster in his last game with the Pittsburgh Steelers as well? All I know is after the dancing and recent comments, Smith-Schuster put a target on his back. And he did it against a team that is in the playoffs for the first time in 18 years. They would love nothing more than to end the Steelers season. A team with nothing to lose is a dangerous team.
When looking at the Wild Card weather report for the Browns vs. Steelers game, expect 39-degree temperatures, calm winds, and clear skies.
