Running backs are some of the most impactful players on your fantasy roster. Thus, here is the most up-to-date injury information with our Week 13 RB fantasy injury report and updates. Players like Atlanta’s Todd Gurley, David Johnson, and Kansas City’s Clyde Edwards-Helaire could be forced to miss time with injuries, creating problematic situations for fantasy managers.
Who are the most notable running backs to have on your radar for Week 13?
Keeping your fantasy football team up-to-date is crucial for success during the push for the playoffs. Notable running backs on the injury report for Week 13 include Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Josh Jacobs, Todd Gurley, David Johnson, and D’Andre Swift. So, without further ado, below is information regarding their Week 13 fantasy injury report and status.
Is Clyde Edwards-Helaire going to miss Week 13?
Update Sunday, December 6: ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that Chiefs’ RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire is active tonight.
While Kansas City Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire has missed practice due to an illness, head coach Andy Reid is optimistic that Edwards-Helaire will suit up.
According to Nate Taylor of The Athletic, Reid is optimistic about Edwards-Helaire’s availability for Sunday. “We think we’re going to get him back,” Reid said ahead of the game.
In a report Sunday morning, Ian Rapoport stated that Edwards-Helaire is feeling better. The team is hopeful he will be active for Week 13.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire has an intriguing fantasy matchup in Week 13 against the Broncos. From Weeks 1 through Week 6, the Denver Broncos only gave up one touchdown on the ground while averaging 63.5 rushing yards to the other team. However, since Week 7, the Broncos have given up eight rushing touchdowns and average 130 rushing yards allowed.
The only thing standing in his way is Le’Veon Bell. He’d be a solid fantasy RB2 if Clyde Edwards-Helaire does miss the game on Sunday night due to injuries.
Could we see the return of David Johnson this week?
Update Sunday, December 6: David Johnson is active for the Houston Texans Week 13 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.
According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans activated running back David Johnson from injured reserve on Saturday after he missed three games with a concussion. Johnson left a Week 9 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars after taking a hard hit from linebacker Myles Jack in the second quarter.
It is worth remembering that activation does not mean that David Johnson will play Sunday because the team has 90 minutes prior to kickoff to make that decision. If David Johnson plays, he gets a difficult matchup against one of the better defenses in the NFL. Duke Johnson will serve as the team’s lead RB for fantasy if Johnson’s injuries force him out for Week 13.
Will the Dolphins have Myles Gaskin back for Sunday?
Update Sunday, December 6: Myles Gaskin is active for the Miami Dolphins Week 13 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Miami Dolphins RB Myles Gaskin has been activated off of the injured reserve.
Related | Myles Gaskin Injury Update: Will he return this week?
Gaskin leads the Dolphins with 100 carries for 387 yards this season despite missing the last four games with a knee injury. With numerous other Dolphins’ RBs popping up on the injury report for Week 13, Gaskin should see a large role in his return. He gets a fantastic matchup against the Bengals, who allow over 22.93 points to the position. He is a lower-end RB2 due to it being his first game back.
Is Falcons’ Todd Gurley in danger of missing a second-straight game?
Update Sunday, December 6: Todd Gurley is active for the Atlanta Falcons Week 13 matchup with the New Orleans Saints.
Todd Gurley missed last week’s game while dealing with knee issues, nothing new for fantasy managers who know his history with injuries. Gurley was a limited participant on Friday after being downgraded to a DNP on Thursday. But, it is worth noting, that the Falcons tend to give veterans a day off in the latter part of the week.
The Falcons RB is questionable per the team’s injury report for Week 13. However, Adam Schefter reported Sunday morning that Gurley is expected to play in Week 13, barring any setbacks Sunday morning.

Let’s dive into the AFC portion of those RBs you want to have on your fantasy radar.
Phillip Lindsay, Denver Broncos (Foot)
Update Sunday, December 6: The Denver Broncos have reported that Lindsay is active for their game against the Chiefs.
Lindsay (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game in Kansas City, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos’ official site reports.
Because Lindsay got in some practice reps both Thursday and Friday it’s more likely he plays, but the activity wasn’t enough to clear him for Week 13 action. On Sunday morning, Ian Rapoport reported that Lindsay is expected to be active for Week 13.
C.J. Prosise, Houston Texans (Illness)
Update Sunday, December 6: CJ Prosise is inactive for the Houston Texans Week 13 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.
Prosise (illness) is ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Colts, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports. He is currently hospitalized with a stomach-related illness.
Kalen Ballage, Los Angeles Chargers (Ankle)
Update Sunday, December 6: Kalen Ballage is active for the Los Angles Chargers Week 13 matchup with the New England Patriots.
Ballage (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Patriots, according to the team’s social media account.
Ballage practiced in full Friday after two limited practices. According to a report from adam Schefter on Saturday night, Ballage is expected to be active. However, after Austin Ekeler’s return, there’s little fantasy value for the remaining RBs on the team for Week 13.
Josh Jacobs, Las Vegas Raiders (Ankle)
Jacobs (ankle) will not play Sunday against the Jets, but the Raiders are hopeful the running back can return in Week 14, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
RB Devontae Booker is a lower-end RB2 for fantasy due to Jacobs injuries who should see 15 touches.
Salvon Ahmed, Miami Dolphins (Shoulder)
Update Sunday, December 6: Salvon Ahmed is inactive for the Miami Dolphins Week 13 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Coach Brian Flores said Friday that Ahmed (shoulder) would be listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Bengals, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Matt Breida, Miami Dolphins (Illness/Reserve List)
The Dolphins placed RB Matt Breida on the reserve list Friday, per the team’s social media account.
DeAndre Washington, Miami Dolphins (Hamstring)
Update Sunday, December 6: DeAndre Washington is inactive for the Miami Dolphins Week 13 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Washington (hamstring) will be listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Bengals, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Washington is the third running back to show up on the Dolphins injury report for Week 13. Thus, increasing the likelihood that none of them play, leaving Myles Gaskin and Patrick Laird as the only fantasy options available for Week 13.
JJ Taylor, New England Patriots (Shoulder)
Update Sunday, December 6: JJ Taylor is inactive for the New England Patriots Week 13 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Patriots have listed Taylor (quadriceps) as questionable ahead of Sunday’s contest against the Chargers.
Taylor was a limited participant at practice all week and appeared to be trending toward a true game-time decision. However, he is buried on the depth chart and brings no tangible fantasy value for Week 13 and beyond.
James Conner, Pittsburgh Steelers (Illness/Reserve List)
Update Monday, December 7: James Conner was not activated from the reserve list and will miss the Steelers Week 13 matchup with the Washington Football Team.
James Conner was placed on the reserve list last Saturday, Mark Kaboly of The Athletic reported. Conner will miss his second game in a row due to testing positive, leaving Benny Snell to carry the load in Week 13.
Fantasy RB Injury Report and Updates, Week 13: NFC Players
Let’s dive into the NFC portion of those RBs you want to have on your fantasy radar.
D’Andre Swift, Detroit Lions (Illness)
Update Sunday, December 6: D’Andre Swift is inactive for the Detroit Lions Week 13 matchup with the Chicago Bears.
The Lions have Listed D’Andre Swift (illness) as doubtful for Sunday’s game in Chicago, Tim Twentyman of the Lions’ official site reports.
Swift was able to clear concussion protocol earlier in the week. He proceeded to miss the final two practices due to an illness.
Tyler Ervin, Green Bay Packers (Ribs)
Update Sunday, December 6: Tyler Ervin is active for the Green Bay Packers Week 13 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Tyler Ervin (ribs) is questionable for Sunday’s game versus the Eagles, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers’ official site reports. However, there is no fantasy impact in Week 13 as he does not see enough reps to be startable.
Ty Montgomery, New Orleans Saints (Hamstring)
Montgomery (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Falcons. As a result, Montgomery will miss a second consecutive game after being unable to practice all week.
Devonta Freeman, New York Giants (Illness/Reserve List)
Devonta Freeman was placed on the reserve list Saturday, Field Yates of ESPN reports. Freeman either tested positive or has been deemed a close contact with someone else who tested positive.
The veteran running back will need to clear the league’s protocols before returning to the Giants’ facilities. Freeman was already on the IR with an ankle injury.
Travis Homer, Seattle Seahawks (Wrist)
Update Sunday, December 6: Travis Homer is inactive for the Seattle Seahawks Week 13 matchup with the New York Giants.
Homer (wrist/thumb/knee) is doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Giants and is expected to miss his third-straight game, Joe Fann of NBC Sports Northwest reports.
