Week 10 NFL Power Rankings and NFL Week 9 Recap

PFN’s Senior NFL Analyst Matt Williamson (Former NFL Scout and ESPN Analyst) released his Week 10 Power Rankings following the games on Monday Night Football in Week 9. While the Kansas City Chiefs still sit at the top, the Colts sit 12th in the NFL behind a strong defense, and a Philip Rivers-led offensive unit that lacks big-play potential. Meanwhile, the Titans are among the top 10 teams in the NFL due to their elite running game, Ryan Tannehill’s continued strong play, and one of the NFL’s best young receivers in A.J. Brown.

NFL Game Tonight | What to expect from Colts vs Titans?

The Colts are 5-3, but they’ve beaten up on a few bad teams. Four of their five wins came against teams under .500, and the fifth came against the Chicago Bears. They lost both games they’ve played against serious playoff contenders this year. That being said, the Colts were competitive in both games.

The Colts defense held the Ravens in check, and if their offense could get going, they likely would have won the game. Meanwhile, they were within one score of the Browns with less than three minutes left. So, are they a pretender or a contender? That’s what tonight’s game is all about.

The Colts will rely on Rivers and Jonathan Taylor to lead the way on offense against the Titans, but in truth, it’s going to come down to their defense. The defense is only allowing 20 points against per game, and they’re among the leagues best against the run. If the defense comes to play, the Colts have a chance.

Which Titans will show up during Thursday Night Football in Week 10?

The Titans are among the best teams in the AFC. They’re led by a high-powered offense that’s fueled by superstar running back Derrick Henry. Henry’s been held under 100 yards rushing just once this season, a loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He faces his toughest test yet in the Colts front seven. If he’s shut down, it’ll be on Tannehill to lead the way.

However, the Titans are just 3-2 this season when Tannehill throws the ball at least 30 times; four of those games were decided by a single score. Look for the Titans offense to try and keep the ball out of Tannehill’s hands as much as they can.

On defense, the Titans will look to shut down the Colts running game and limit big plays. They’ll want to make Rivers beat them. There’s a major issue with that plan; the Titans don’t put enough pressure on the quarterback to make it work. The Titans have just 10 sacks on the season, the fourth-worst mark in the NFL, and it’s not going to get any easier against one of the best offensive lines in the NFL.

The Titans vs Colts matchup may look good for the Titans on paper, but the stats give the edge to the Colts.
