Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porziņģis made a Celtics superfan’s first game unforgettable.
Before their matchup against the Brooklyn Nets, Porziņģis shared a heartwarming moment with 88-year-old Celtics fan “Nannie,” signing her jersey and taking photos with her, creating a memory she will cherish forever.
Boston Celtics Gift 88-year-old Celtics Fans
In a video posted by user @Laceydfoster on Tiktok, she revealed that her grandmother received a special gift from the Boston Celtics: a robe and tickets to her first Celtics game.
“We loved watching your videos and hearing about Nannie’s passions for all things basketball, but especially the Boston Celtics, so we wanna make Nannie’s dream a reality, ” Foster read in a note from the Celtics’ Fanatics.
“Fanatics and the Boston Celtics are inviting you both to take part in a Celtics practice and then go to the game on March 18 against the [Brooklyn] Nets.”

Foster added, “You’re going to the game — your first Celtics game ever.”
In the video, Nannie jokingly said her dream job would be coaching in the NBA, particularly for the Celtics. She also reflected on her lifelong love for the team, realizing she is actually older than the franchise itself.
“Oh my gosh, Nanny, the Boston Celtics were established in 1946. You were born in 1936; you’re older than the Celtics,” Foster said. Her grandmother replied with an emphatic “Absolutely.”
Nannie opened the package to review the robe the Celtics had gifted. Foster later asked, “You’re ready to go to Boston?” Nannie replied excitedly, “I am all, so ready.” Nannie then began to cry tears of joy.
The video ended with an emotional moment for Foster as she reflected on her Nanny’s joy.
“You know me, you know my grandmother is my favorite person on Earth,” Foster said, wiping away tears. “She started crying, and I’m about to cry. She hates materialistic things, so we can never get her gifts. And this just like made her life.”

Meanwhile, the Celtics are looking to go back-to-back and win another championship after defeating the Dallas Mavericks in the 2024 NBA Finals last season. With banner No. 19 in sight, it would be extra special for Nannie to see her favorite team win another title.
