The New York Giants need to rebuild their roster after choosing Daniel Jones (whom they later had to cut) over Saquon Barkley. With the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, logic suggests New York should target a quarterback to secure the future of the franchise.
However, throughout the offseason and free agency, rumors have swirled about Aaron Rodgers possibly coming to New York. One NFL insider, however, believes that would be a huge mistake, instead urging the Giants to pursue Shedeur Sanders in Lambeau Field.

Step Aside, Aaron Rodgers…It’s Shedeur Sanders’ Time
Josina Anderson has been a well-respected name in NFL circles for some time. Known for her candid opinions, she didn’t hold back when discussing a possible pairing between Rodgers and the Giants.
“Their focus should be on their future franchise quarterback and pairing that rookie with a better match. Not only should the Giants withdraw their bid for Aaron Rodgers, they never should’ve entered this confusing courtship to begin with.”
While Anderson acknowledged the prestige of having a universally regarded top-10 quarterback of all time, Rodgers — who has performed at a comparable level to Russell Wilson over the past three years — isn’t the same player anymore.
Last year, he ranked 21st on PFSN’s QB+ metric, and that’s without factoring in the drama that surrounded the New York Jets all season with Rodgers at the helm. Yet, Anderson’s bigger concern is the timeline.
“Are Rodgers and his current frequencies the best match for the Giants’ next franchise quarterback?”
Instead, she believes the team should target Sanders out of Colorado as their long-term answer.
“Sanders has the charisma and ‘it’ factor that the Giants facility needs right now. Giants owner John Mara not only needs a boost of positive energy and hope around his team, but he also needs fans in the seats. In my opinion, Sanders is the perfect, all-in-one football and marketing move.”
In his final year at Colorado, Sanders was a standout at the position. Despite playing behind a porous offensive line, he still posted 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns while completing an impressive 74% of his passes.
While he might not replicate that production immediately at the pro level, there’s enough potential for New York to take the gamble and think long term, especially with a standout wide receiver like Malik Nabers already on the roster.
Whether the Giants follow the plan Anderson has laid out remains to be seen. But in the long run, bringing in Sanders might be the smartest move.
