The inaugural season of the 3-on-3 Unrivaled Basketball League Championship is done and dusted, with Angel Reese-led Rose BC emerging triumphant in the finals.
While Reese was out with a wrist injury in the finals, Rose was equally efficient with Chelsea Gray and Brittany Skyes on the court and beat Vinyl BC 62-54 to win the inaugural title and the money double of what WNBA Champions earn.
How Much Did Rose BC Earn on Unrivaled Title Win?
Each WNBA Championship-winning team player received just $20,825 in prize money last season. Double it, add $10,000 more to make it $50,000, and that’s how much each of the Rose players is set to receive after winning the inaugural Unrivaled title on Monday.
Unrivaled also organized a one-on-one tournament in February and awarded $350,000 in prize money. The winner, Napheesa Collier, took home a massive $200,000, just eight thousand less than her WNBA salary last season, while runner-up Aaliyah Edwards got $50,000.
In addition to the significant prize money, Unrivaled claims to offer the highest average salary in women’s team sports, reportedly $222,222, and equity in the league.

Collier and Breanna Stewart founded the league last year. They raised $28 million in Series A funding from several sports celebrity investors, including Michael Phelps and his wife Nicole, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Dawn Staley, and JuJu Watkins. Four-time NBA Champion Stephen Curry also hopped on the train last week, acknowledging the league’s impact and growth.
āI am incredibly proud to be joining the Unrivaled family as the league continues to set a new standard for how womenās professional sports should operate- empowering athletes and ensuring they have a real stake in their own success,āĀ Curry said in a statementĀ sent to the league.

āUnrivaled is not just innovating the way we play basketball, but also how we value and invest in the athletes who drive the game forward.ā
While the league’s viewership success has yet to be seen, it has undoubtedly set new standards in women’s basketball. With its focus on empowering athletes, a domino effect will likely be seen in the WNBA as a new CBA is around the corner.
There have been increasing calls for an increase in WNBA salaries, which at their maximum are just a little over Unrivaled average salary. Rose’s Reese has been one of the leading voices demanding higher pay and has even threatened a strike if their demands aren’t met in the new CBA agreement.
Nevertheless, it’s safe to say that Unrivaled’s first season was a success and has provided female basketball players with an opportunity to earn money in the WNBA offseason without having to go to Europe.
