The Dallas Mavericks are not having the greatest season currently. Since trading Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis, it seems as if the Mavericks have been bitten by the injury bug or some form of bad luck boogeyman.
After losing Dončić, the Mavericks lost Davis to injury almost instantly. Davis has been out ever since. Kyrie Irving is out for the rest of the year and potentially longer than that with a torn ACL. The Mavericks are also in danger of potentially forfeiting games if they do not have enough players to suit up.
With the injuries currently halting any chance of success for the Mavericks, the fans are unhappy. However, it seems that the Dončić trade isn’t the only trade that has some Mavericks fans voicing their displeasure.
Maverick Fans Want Nico Harrison Fired
The Mavericks put together a trade to send Quentin Grimes to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Caleb Martin. While Martin has had success in the past during his time with the Miami Heat, he has not been to replicate that production in Philly or Dallas.
Meanwhile, Grimes has been on a tear recently. Following an excellent performance from Grimes against the Houston Rockets, many Mavericks fans were angry with more calls for the organization to fire General Manager Nico Harrison. Some of the reactions are below.
Yes, the Mavericks traded away Quentin Grimes too.

“Yeah, the Mavericks traded away Quentin Grimes too” Legion Hoops reminded everyone.
Nico’s gotta be fired after this season. This is atrocious.

“Nico’s gotta be fired after this season. This is atrocious” one fan commented. “Insane” wrote another.
Nico Harrison should be brought up on charges

Many people have felt that Harrison has done the Mavericks a major disservice with the moves he made at the trade deadline.
While the Dončić trade sent fans into a rightful frenzy, it has to be tough as a fan to watch a role player like Grimes go elsewhere and play like a superstar.
Quentin Grimes And His Recent Outstanding Play
Grimes really has been nothing short of phenomenal in this recent string of games. Is it possible that Harrison and the Mavericks trading him away brought extra motivation?
Grimes seemed to fit well as a role player in Dallas with the Mavericks, but his last five games with the Sixers has been insane. Grimes’ improved play started a little before that, however.
His first breakout game of the year came against the Golden State Warriors when he put up an astounding 44-point performance to upset them. His next major performance would come two games later against the Minnesota Timberwolves, as he finished with 30 points and shot 66.7% from the field.
These last five games have Grimes showing improvement in all facets of the game, not just scoring. Grimes is averaging 32.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game in his last five, which includes 46 points and 13 rebounds against the Houston Rockets.
The Mavericks want Harrison gone, but there have been zero rumblings of the organization actually considering making the change. Whether or not the Mavericks do fire Harrison, it is clear that the team is missing the talent of Grimes, especially now.
