Tyler Reddick had a rough day at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and he wasn’t afraid to show his frustration. While Josh Berry secured his first-ever NASCAR Cup Series victory in a stunning fashion, Reddick was left fuming after a disappointing race that saw him drop to 24th place. The 23XI Racing driver didn’t mince words over the team radio, making it clear that something needs to change.
Tyler Reddick’s Struggles at Las Vegas
Starting from 14th, Reddick had high hopes for the Pennzoil 400. But as the laps went by, his race went from bad to worse. Despite avoiding any crashes or major mistakes, he slowly fell down the order, finishing ten places lower than where he started, unlike several others who made gains during the race. He even led the race for a good 34 laps and set the fastest lap time on lap 202—yet that was not enough for him to win the race.
It wasn’t just him—his teammate Bubba Wallace also had a tough outing, starting in 20th and ending up in 28th. The only 23XI Racing driver who made any noticeable progress was Riley Herbst, who moved up from 34th to 19th. But even that wasn’t enough to put a single team car in the top 10. For an organization with strong Toyota support and big expectations, this kind of performance is simply not good enough.

Josh Berry’s Win Adds to the Frustration
Adding to Reddick’s frustration was watching Berry pull off a career-defining victory. The Wood Brothers Racing driver, who had never won a Cup Series race before, managed to find the speed and strategy to take home the chequered flag. While it was a fantastic moment for Berry and his team, it only highlighted the struggles at 23XI Racing.
Despite having a well-funded team with strong resources, Reddick and Wallace couldn’t come close to competing for the win. After the race, Reddick’s anger boiled over on the radio as he vented, “We gotta get our f***ing act together and win a race.” His words reflected the growing frustration within the team, as they continue to fall short of expectations.
There’s no doubt that Reddick has the talent to win races. He’s proven himself time and again, but without the right strategy and execution from his team, success will continue to slip away.
With the season still in its early stages, there’s time to fix the issues. But if 23XI Racing does not step up soon, Reddick’s frustration may turn into something more serious. For now, all eyes will be on the team to see if they can bounce back in the coming races.
